How many guns have been banned/had FRTs held off indefinitely these past 5 years of zero hype? At least 6 come to mind. That is their agenda. The anties want to ban guns. That's how they roll.
These are 2 of the many ways of how they ban guns:
1. Based on popularity. They love to do it based on that.
The best example of the distant past is the 25's/32's and short barrels.
Because there were so many of them.
But that was based on an OIC.
2. Based on the lack of popularity, because there will be very few people to cry about it.
How many Armi Jagers were out there? How many Police shotguns? How many BD3008's?
They can also ban them before the importation or after.
But if a gun is too popular, it is easier to stop the importation than gather them back from people's houses.
That's how they did it first time, and chances are that they will try it again,
especially if they will be non-restricted (not registered).
And the t97 was not the only one stopped before sales. Remember the SCAR?
(I tend to believe that the future popularity of the SCAR played a role in that).
They recently published their scary gun list. I don't recall mentioning any of them.
Because they didn't bother, there were so very few of them (Armi Jagers, etc.)
But you recall mentioning the 58's and the Mini14's, don't you?
They didn't ban the 58's because they were already in.
As I said before, the 58's are already in. And today, a big percentage of 58's are no longer registered.
Neither are the Tavors, M14's, SKSes, Mini14's and so on.
But the T97 didn't have that chance. There were very few inside Canada
(but that didn't matter, anyway, since they were all registered, including the ones with 18.5"+ barrel).
It was much easier to ban the importation of the big boat full of them, by classification.
And don't bet too much money that they will not look for ways to do it again.
If they will find it hard to do it straight in your face, they will try to postpone it.
Alberta Tactical posted on this forum that he was told by the Forensic Lab
that from now on, an assessment of new firearm can take 1.5 years, IIRC. There you have it.
Don't be so sure they can't milk that period of time and push the classification until after the election.
And, IMO, another important fact here is that after the death of the LGR,
they are more careful what guns they let in, because it is harder to grab them after they are in people's hands.
Maybe we should troll the AR15 thread? Pictures, after all...
You don't have to. Don't you fukken worry.
As I said many times, just wait until the cons fall from power (apparently they try hard to be hated by everybody coast to coast).
But since we reached that AR subject, this is how the next bans will start: the registered guns first (mostly pistols and AR's).
Good to know the hate fiction persists
You are so fukken wrong. I never hated you. I really respect you like a valuable person involved in the movement for gun rights.
You were my internet friend. And you still are. We shared so many jokes during the years.
Yes, I can take a STFU from a friend, or whatever else he cares to throw at me from time to time.
But now you have to get some fresh air and see the light. Give this gun a chance.
Just stop for a second and postpone your enthusiasm and exuberance concerning the subject of this t97
until
AFTER the first shipment gets in the hands of the people.
Let North Silva do their thing, while, based on past experiences, let's keep a low profile and
refrain from doing anything that could attract undue attention.
After that, yes, go ahead and start a consolidated thread and the whole shabang.
