Maxus feeding issue

got a call thismorning that she was all done, so i ran over and picked it up. smith said he removed a small burr on the carrier somewhere

went straight to the range and shot 3 rounds of skeet. the problems slightly better, but still jams every 10 shots or so. back to the shop she went :(
 
Hahaha that was funny. I havent been back to where I got it, and dont really want to. Only reason I went to them was because they were the only place that had the golden clays within 1000km. If worse comes to worse it gets sent back to browning anyways. Will press the issue of browning giving me a brand new replacement if this go around doesn't work.
 
If they have some other maxus in stock ask to look at them and compare alinement of the shell carriers . I would also ask if there willing to swap trigger groups from another gun to see if the problem goes away .

Ok question for you did you shoot it after you oiled the recoil spring, stretched the mag spring etc. If not did this little burr make the difference or what you did?? I am still fixed on a weak spring especially after reading the posts on that other form and browning admitted to a bad batch just have to see what one it was they were talking about.
 
It is actually a common problem I have read about on The Duck Hunters Refuge but it seemed to be common with the first release of maxus shotguns and the problem was pretty much remedied on the next season's models. I guess the odd one slips through the cracks. I had one and it performed flawlessly with everything from 2 3/4 dram 1 1/8 oz target loads to 1.5 oz 3.5" Magnums. I really like the gun but I could not hit SFA with it. I think the issue was I am accustomed to heavier guns and the Maxus is very light therefore I was stopping my swing. I hated to move it as it was a dream to come up with from a laying position in the layout blind but I replaced it with a rifle I always wanted, a Ruger #1 V in 22-250 and I am very happy with that purchase too. spank....did they say it was a dealer fix ONLY or was it something easily remedied by the DIY'ers
 
I'd rather have a different gun altogether, drive 2hrs to the store and exchange, but that's just me. You are in for it with the smiths, good or great, you will be back and forth, back and forth, and then quit.
 
Any news on your maxus . I had a chance today to look at 4 different maxus guns at the local browning dealer . a hunter , sporting ,stalker and an ultimate and all have the shell carrier sitting in the same position as mine with only a mm or so clearance between the carrier and the non ejection side of the receiver .
