Sorry guys, a real noob trying to get into precision shooting.

At the Sportsman's Show, the Vortex rep knew a lot about the 10TR. He was saying that it was best to replace the 0 MOA rail with a 20 MOA rail. Seems like there were some messages here saying the same thing, especially since my goal is to shoot 1000m. (It's a goal! :) )

I see that Wolverine has them. Just can't understand what a short and long action is? And what the 10 TR is. Please help me out! Thanks for any advice in advance!

My scope has an adjustment range of 34moa, either side of zero. With the trajectory of a 168gn bullet, you'd be able to zero out to about 800m. Putting a steeper rail on will stretch out your zeroing ability past that magic 1000 yard point. With a 20moa you can still zero your scope for 100 yards, or reach right out and touch something. 30moa rail might be a bit too much, unless you don't mind losing your close range zeroing.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping to aim for the 1000m mark when I start precision shooting. Just don't know when exactly. I figured if I get all of my gear in order, I can then start aiming for my goal. Never even knew that a 30 MOA rail existed, but I think I will just stick with the 20 MOA rail.

A colleague was there today, and while your website said 6 available, he now has to pay shipping because nothing was available. Your website now says 25...5 minutes after he told me nothing was available in stock. Which is it? I am not driving 60 minutes to find out I have to pay shipping. I thought your website was accurate??? not happy.

I think they get replenished from Savage as they sell out inventory. It’s probably not in real time and they have to update the website manually when they sell a rifle. If it’s an hour drive, I’d call first to see if they have any and tell them to hold it for you if you want one.

Got mine today. Had to sneak it into the house but made it okay. Wifey was making sandwiches in the kitchen so we could have them to watch the Canadian Men's hockey team. I could see her from the deck out side and when she stuck her head into the fridge to get the mayo, I popped the door open and with one quick move dove for the basement while slamming the door behind me. I did a quick commando roll down the stairs with the rifle, still in the box, held in my arms. I did a perfect three point landing (nose and ears) about 8 inches from the cat box where I stopped for a moment to catch my breath. So far, so good. At least the rifle and I are safe for now. Later.....

Sorry, for those of us who have shopped with SFRC, their website is gospel, according to Ryan.
. 6 versus 25 is not acceptable. Gas and shipping.gnain't cheap. Not happy with SFRC. Will shop out west now, based on buddies experience.

My guess for what happened is they listed 6, in reality had less than that left, sold them by the time your pal go there, and after he left, a new shipment arrived so their invetory is back up to 25. Just my two cents. I used to work retail, happened like that sometimes. Customer would come in, remember that I told him a few days ago that I had a few left, by the time he came back, all sold out. A few days later, a new shipment arrived, he or she would come back and be like WTF? It sucks, but it happens sometimes.

Who the fark drives an hour without picking up a phone and making sure it is going to be there when you arrive (and I don't care what a website says, in this day and age of on demand delivery and drop shipping from manufactures and distributors, going by what a store website says they have available to sell you and expecting it to be there on the shelf when you drive an hour and show up in person is just stupid).

Did he buy it online and choose store pickup and it was not there when he arrived?

If that is not the case, he has zero to complain about if he did not pick up the phone to reserve one before driving there.

Never go full retard.

Are you saying you phone, got one on hold, got to B&M store, NO STOCK?
Or are you saying you ASSUMED "X Units in stock" means X units in the B&M store, Went full retard, wasted time/gas driving there.

Are you sure you have the correct store? We had three people pick them up in store today and we have a few dozen still available. No one else came in asking for one....there is even a display one on the shelf.

Berger, did you talk to your friend? I left you a voicemail today as well as a pm on here but haven't heard back.

Ryan

Hey Ryan.

I just wanted to pass on my apologies for my post. First off, I was feeling no pain, as a few of us were still going strong after the hockey game. Thou shalt not post when drinking at a bar. Secondly, he did tell me you were sold out, but he must have called and never went in. He did order one from you over the phone I guess, but we were texting back and forth and something got lost in translation.

Again, my apologies for being to quick to post....especially after too many rye and cokes! f:P:2:
