.22lr upper from Questar?

It's a lot cheaper to shoot .22. $12 for 500 rounds.

9mm is TEN times that. I'd rather shoot .22.

I got my order comfirmation from Questar. Only 10% is being charged to my card as a depost, around $84, and they are not expected until June. :( However, this leaves me extra $$$ to buy the lower while I wait, or something else....

Don't be too quick on buying a lower... we're working on something that will be quite interesting but it's still a couple of months away (at least). The permits are being processed now and once everything is approved we'll make the announcement... until then that's all the info I can release.

Sounds good Mark. Looking forward to seeing what you're up to. My bank account isn't, but that's another story :D

I found a site that has a good picture of the M4 model upper:

Is there such a thing as a non-restricted lower that the .22lr upper will attach to? Would the .22lr upper then remain non-restricted? What about the LWRC SABR, if it ever comes out and ends up non-restricted, would the .22lr upper fit on it?

The end result (price-wise) will be exactly the same as if I had purchased a .223 AR15, except it'll practically cost nothing to shoot at the range.

Besides, I don't have any really accessible crown land in my area, so I don't mind having to use it at the range. I can always build an AR22-10/22 if I ever find a place to shoot outside of ranges in the Ottawa region.

Questar, get 'em up asap! :D

Read a post on AR15.com posted today by an American dealer who is getting the Tac Sol .22 Upper, says Tac Sol will be shipping them by the end of next week. So we could see ours sometime in June?

Now you got me interested too. Can't wait to see what's coming up.

Who else has ordered one? On Questar's main page the .gif add says "Now Accepting Orders For Our Fall Shipment". :(

Any more news on the arrival of these uppers?

Our first shipment of TS uppers has been sitting at our US office for over a month now. We have been waiting for Tactical Solutions to "renew" their DDTC Manufacturer's Registration as required by US State Department.

The Export Permit was on "hold" until TS renewed their registration and so we lost over 2 months because of this delay.

The permit has been resubmitted and we should have it processed in the next few weeks. As soon as the permit is processed the uppers will be transported to our Canadian office and shipped out to customers who have previously placed their orders.

This delay was totally out of our control. US State Department started a few months ago enforcing the requirement that any item or part listed on the US Munitions List, the product's manufacturer must be registered with DDTC as a "Registered Manufacturer". Many companies were not complying with this requirements and some companies had let their Registration expire... so it is causing delays in getting export permit approvals right across the board.

Thanks Mark.
I have one on order and was just wondering about it. Sounds like it won't be too long now.

It's unfortunate that the US has decided to be such a pain in the A@@ with firearms in the last few years.

any news on the new lower option you mentioned ?

We ran into the exact same situation on those... the manufacturer was not current in their DDTC Registration so US State Department refused to review the export permit until the registration was renewed.

This delays permits by months when it happens. It's a huge pain and nothing we can do about it.
