Those guys at the range were pretty funny though - "Dude, what the hell is that - a paintball gun?" I loved your explanation - "uh, if this is what we take paintballing then we're not going to have any friends left after the game."
Clearly they'd been doing a little too much shooting without ear pro... lol!
The thing still hurt the hell out of my ears the one time I decided to shoot it without my muffs on - it did sound pretty quiet through the muffs, so I thought "hell, I'll pop 'em off and see how bad it really is." Yeah, bad idea.

We just finished this sick 300 Fireball. It has a 9.5" heavy 1:8 match barrel under a Daniel Defence 10" Lite Rail. The gas system is pistol length and features a custom super lo-pro adjustable gas block to fit under the slim DD rail.
Glad you are having fun cause out of all the Fireballs we have done so far, mine is the only one giving troubles.

Man that's weird... did you take some mass off the BC? Is there some debris in the gas tube?

No, mine was the third one built. As usual, just when I think I know what I am doing reality whacks me upside the head.
Yes, it is infinitely annoying. The problem seems to be the muzzle device is blowing powder residue back into the chamber causing the next round to stick short chambered. The hammer then hits the back of the carrier without hitting the firing pin so you end up with the hammer down and an unfired round stuck in the chamber. I have had to pound the gun open several times now.
To see if this theory is correct, I am planning to try it with a conventional brake next time.
Ah, yes... that makes sense. I thought it was a problem with the ejection phase of the cycling, but now I see that it's a problem with the chambering phase.
Much more difficult to sort out, to be sure... especially with a nicely-cut chamber that's "right on" in terms of size.
Hmm.
I know ATRS polishes chambers like Mr. Clean polishes floors, so that's obviously not an issue... I suppose that the only thing for it is to experiment with the muzzle devices, as you have been.

Let me know how this goes for you ...had mine out @ the range on Sat and was having the exact same issue. Had to seriously go apesh!t on the handle to unstick the partially chambered round.
Feeding one at a time though was sweet as can be though!

The 300 is definitely a head turner...gave it to a couple of guys to try it out...
...to say they were blown away by it is a gross understatement!

I'm going to have a look at it when he's back in town on days off, and we'll get to the bottom of this - damn it!

Yeah, I did the same when it first happened to mine. We actually pulled the rifle apart and repolished the chamber but in truth I don't think there were any issues with it in the first place.
