**.375 Bullet Test Results**(lots of pics!)

I wonder how much better the bullets would have performed if fired from the Real King instead of its imposter.....lol

Lol, well that was disappointing. I could live with 70% but the one that slipped its core?? Ya know anytime
I've tried bonding an alloy - which the base of these cores were, Ive had horrible results, I simply cannot get
a good bond with anything other than pure lead, although they are tenacious they turn into thimbles for the most
of the time.
I'm limited to .040 jackets so the magic if there's any would be in the core, anyone know what the chemical is in
a chemically bonded bullet?

The other two bullets look like they took the bonding well.

Corbin sells a bonding chemical but have no idea if it's what you are after.

Nosler 260gr Partition
Average Penetration (inches): 17.83
Average Weight Retained (grain): 207.3
Average Weight Retained (%): 79.7
Average Expansion (inches): 0.690
Note: Typical Partition performance. The top lead portions are just sitting on top of those bullets, they are no longer attached.

A couple questions Steve... for the Partition bullets, were the frontal lead caps that are "no longer attached" found in the position you show them in in the "after picture?" Or were they located not in line with the path of the bullet base? Their non-deformed "cup like" appearance would indicate that, although detached, they stayed in position at the front of the bullet right to it's final resting place. Did the total retained weight include the frontal lead splatter?

WOW how did I miss this thread = excellent info.

and to think just a couple months ago I bought 400 of the Hornady 270gr bullets for my shortened to 22" barreled T/C Prohunter in 375H&H.

Awesome thread. And a big thanks for taking the time to do this sort of testing. Would love to see the trophy bonded bear claws tested as well in the 250 and 300 grain loads. Anyone have any results on these on game ?
