7.62x39 Russian Ammunition back in stock.

its not ment to be an argument, its ment to be a statement, which it is

as to the fact that you are more aware of the ways of the world than some of us, good on ya. and have a great day

Oh I am used by now, I always get one of those "WOW" "Oh no way man ".
Yes way, people do not listen to me a lot of times. (Some do )
$100 a Mosin , "Man it is too expensive!!" , how much it is now a year later??
If anybody read between lines I already said to buy from local dealer because they will go up in price.
You want another secret they will go up in price more and it has nothing to do currency exchange!
You want a clue......Afganistan,Syria,Ukraine,Iraq.....
Does not matter where they come from China,Russia or Romania and etc.
Surplus has a tendency to run out.
So please stop telling me that the price is too expensive, it is what it is ... for many reasons .
Prices for everything went up, price of barrel $40 and gas in Vancouver around $1.20. Complain to Trudeau about that.
I am not going to go into details but everything cost 40% more what do expect me to do sell at $259?
Again for those who did not get a hint 259X1.40=362.60!!
Sorry if I hurt someone feelings, I tell the way it is and I do not like to sugar coating things.
Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Have not dealt with this dealer before but his price is not ridiculous and I have no doubt it will go up everywhere so instead of saying it's cheaper here or there shut up and buy it for that price before it's gone and if you like the cheap ammo at your favorite vendor keep it to yourself or it will be gone that much faster!!!

sorry but all this new Russian surplus showed up at the same time,,,so they were bought at the same dollar level,,anybody notice the first 2 vendors to offer up this stuff were the 2 largest importers,,both in the east so i dont mention their names,,these 2 are the most well known importers of this stuff,,it would be far easier for Westrrifle to simply say,,they are reselling from THAT very same supply,,and since he has to make a profit too,,he has to have a higher price,,no problem,,he will just have to sit on it for a while,,while the 2 main importers sell off at the cheaper price,,but Westrifle is right,,the current supply will run out,,the importers will need to bring more in,,and it will go up in price a nit more,,the the $370.00 price might be closer,,,until then,,buy up what you can from the 2 big guys,,because the rice will keep going up,,and with TURDEAU in charge,,we might not have ANY acces to it for another few years...

Speaking of surplus; NATO's secretary general was in Serbia and Serbian B92 news reported the following: "He "reminded that the partnership plan offers many opportunities for cooperation and that NATO is ready to launch a new fund to help Serbia destroy 200 tons of surplus ammunition"
Instead of destroying this ammo it would be a great asset to sports shooters here in Canada. So maybe some of our importers could import some of this stuff here which should keep the cost down. The main calibers in Serbia are 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, 7.62 Tokarev, 9mm Parabelum and 8x57 JS Mauser. All good stuff made in PPU factory and all in demand here.

Do you have a link?
Thanks.

Westrifle has the right to establish their own prices and we should respect that. You either like the price or you go to another dealer and pay the price that you like. I did. Period. Now, some things may be as you say Economics 101 but some things are weird. Mosin sling went down from $25.00 and free shipping to $12.00 and you pay for shipping. So I did an estimate on their website for shipping costs and to ship that item to Ontario it would be the following:

Shipping quotes are based on the address information you selected:

Available Shipping Methods Rates
Canada Post (Priority, 2016-01-06) $94.48
Canada Post (Xpresspost, 2016-01-07) $75.12
Canada Post (Expedited, 2016-01-12) $37.73
Canada Post (Regular, 2016-01-14) $39.93

Are you kidding me!!?? Economics 101. Yeah, sure.

As old stock disappears, and the Can$ dumping right at 72c today, these kind of prices are the new reality.

not sure how all this blaming the canadian dollar is a good argument,,sure the dollar suck,,but ALL this new batch of Russian surplus showed up about the same time,,so WHY is that ONLY the 2 big importers out east have the low prices???pretty simple to deduce that all these OTHER higher priced vendors are actually buying from these 2 and reselling,,so of course they need to mark up and make a profit,,,but to constantly blaming the ####ty canadian dollar is an easy way out...if these higher priced resellers are actually bringing in their own,,they bought at the same time as the big 2,and used the same value dollar,,NOW,,if they are having to get the stuff shipped from ports here in the east,,that explains some of the higher cost too,,but in the end,,the higher price stuff will sell when the cheaper vendors are out,,,but judging by the latest shipment size,,that might be a while,,but it will sell out,,,then somebody somewhere will find another country willing to sell their surplus cheap,,something the big 2 in the east are masters at,,

also.,,,my reality has been about 200 to 225 a case for 3 years now,,,look at the prices of surplus 7.62x39 in the last 3 years from the big 2 vendors,,and you'll see the price wasnt much lower even with the strong dollar then,,200 to 225 is just the price this stuff is REALLY worth...you want a REALLY cheap price,,,call out east to the big 2 and get yourself 25 cases or so,,,you'll probably get a great deal,,,,then throw them on the EE for 300 and you'll make yourself a nice proffit,,LOL..

The Free Enterprise System at work : but as time goes on , prices will probably rise unless the Canadian dollar can rally some....

There is an interesting article in the recent CSSA magazine "Calibre" about the whole process of importing surplus arms/ammo from the Ukraine in particular, with a small mention of Russia; even surplus runs out eventually (Czech, Romania) and it's not going to get any cheaper that's for sure.

Both 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R, especially the later one, are still in active military service all over the world and are being produced for military purposes as we speak. That means that every 20-50 years military will replenish old stock with the new one and therefore make surplus available for sale just like these days. The rise in cost will follow due to inflation and other factors but certainly not due to surplus drying out. I hope.
