9.3x62 anybody Like it in Canada ?

I am new to the 9.3 x 62, and am still shopping for one, but what is with the re naming to Wagner ? Did he re-design , modify the case? like Ackley improved cases in other calibers?

If you check back through the numerous posts concerning the 9.3x62, I think you'll find it's in recognition of some of Ted Wagners exploits with the calibre and indirectly, the promotion of it.

Nope, just brought it to the fore on this forum and through his numerous contacts. He's a first rate hunter and gentleman and for that reason we've made the name 366 Wagner as it's semi-official moniker on CGN.

I have several rifles in the caliber and used it on almost everything that walks in the east.

So do we rename the 270 win, to to 270 O'Conner, or 270 JackO " ? What do we rename Teddy Rosevelts favorite cartridge ? a 405 Teddy?, It is silly to start trying to rename a cartridge because someone used it.

Take a pill Pete... it was a "tongue in cheek" in-house process here in CGN... a sort of insider tribute to a fine fella.... if you don't like that just move along

You're entitled to your opinion so do what you feel is best. However, as you can see, with the comments you've expressed on the topic, specifically concerning the '.366 Wagner', or it's European counterpart the 9.3x62, you & your opinion appear to be in the minority.

Welcome to Canada!
Yes, I have a 35 Whelen in my gun cabinet. Great caliber.

Hi

I have just moved from Europe to Ontario so this forum is new to me

First of all Hello to you nice folks

I brought over my rusty 9.3x62 and I am just curious as to how popular is it in Canada ?

You're not the first to get his panties in a knot over the renaming. All I can say is that the rest of us aren't interested in your snivelling.

Petew we didnt push it but Ted is also a good advocate for the 270 ....

It's just a funny CGN thing. It's not seriously supposed to get past CGN. There was talk about getting custom headstamp brass and boxes but it never went anywhere. Too bad, actually, as Bearded Ted's Canoe pic would have been great on a cartridge box. :)
