9.3x62 anybody Like it in Canada ?

Just to add: I am using Matrix Ballistics 290 grain 9.3.. On animal performance was 98 and 94%(if memory is correct) retained weight with great mushroom-peelback.

Those are the ones I mentioned Earlier that I got from Matrix, but haven't tried because of the great accuracy I've got with the first bullets I bought. The 285gr PRVI. However, congrats to Marshal and his bullets. Sounds like great weight retention and preformance you've got using them.

In response to your e-mail, what I used on the two .366 Wagner cartridge boxes of ammo in my photos, originates from the initial photo of Ted running Three Mile Rapids I believe it was, in his canoe;), a couple of years back.

When the .366 Wagner cartridge box idea came about, there were two basic possible concepts or prototypes put forth.

Then and at this point in time, rather than go the total cartridge box route, an adhesive 'stick on' of a size for the present size of plastic cartridge box may be a more realistic idea, if anyone on site has knowledge on how to accomplish that. What I have at present, is a very primitave effort to see how it would look.

;)An appropriate consideration may be to have one box marked as using the Matrix bullet

First off welcome to Canada. For what it's worth... I'm new to shooting and this site. I'm only on here because two years ago my friend introduced me to the 9.3x62 and it soon became an addiction that led to me getting my PAL and ten other rifles. I have a 9.3x62 Husqvarna. I don't know much about it other than it's a Mauser 98 and has been rebuilt on a synthetic stock. I like it. It's bedded and floated and shoots a tight group. I use 320 grain hand cast home loads. Sometimes I use factory Nosler A-Frames if my buddy doesn't have time to press me rounds. They work good but aren't as tight as the home loads. The first 9.3x62 I shot was a Mauser .98 action military style. It had the drop in style action for stripper clips with a thumb notch. It's been modified lots and I don't know all the facts about it. Some things I remember were - my friend was proud that it was a "True Mauser". He said the barrel and action were rebuilt in the German plant if that means anything. It had a ring on the end of the barrel for sighting through. It has a "Monte Carlo" stock. It looks really nice. I actually want to rebuild mine to look like it. Anyways, just adding my two bits.

Update:
Presently, sans input, awaiting a return call from a local label & sign maker, on the cost for making the above pictured, 3 1/2"x5 1/2" as a water resistant stick on Label.

I just love that photo of Mr. Wagner going through the rapids in the canoe with the moose antlers. That's what dreams are made of. And yes, the 9.3 x 62 is a personal favourite of mine. Mine is a CZ 550 Medium.

I don't own a 9.3 (and likely never will), but I would definitely have a couple of those stickers to put on the safe and some gear boxes!

Dang! My design got rejected... :)

Either way that picture is awesome. Even better since I joined the 9.3x62 club. (Not experienced enough to join the .366 Wagner club)

Any news on stickers?

All I have left from my initial order of them is four of each of the following, $1.50 each.

BeaverMeat, a while back when I was finally able to get some made up, I asked if there were any alterations and/or design changes. Getting no response, I ordered what you see.:(Sorry, best I could do.

I am pretty sure I had my 202 on order before I joined this forum yet at the time nobody I knew was interested in the caliber and I don't think it was really discussed on here till much more recently.

I went the 'inexpensive' route and picked up a Zastava with full wood.
And,:d was pleasantly suprised with the accuracy.

So much so, I picked up a 'partner' for it, in 7x57.

Husky_98___9.jpg

Looked at this thread a couple times now, I have the above husky 98, in 9.3x62, 7lbs, all up with five down.
Just starting handloading for it, a box of partions, TSX 250gr and 250 accubonds, and several lbs of varget, on hand, hopefully get it dialed in this summer.
Looking for a peep or express sight, fitted a cheep one to the rear mounts, but its fully adjust rear ward and hitting the bolt, still shooting six" low,
If anyone knows of a great peep sight, or express sight, that fits a 98 mauser, please advise.

Congratulations on having one of the finest hunting rifles ever produced, and chambered in one of the best big game hunting cartridges. I have the same rifle, with a Williams Foolproof receiver sight installed. It weighs a tad more than yours, all ready to go.

The sight in the picture has the target aperture installed. I use it when sighting in and developing loads, take it out when hunting.

Have an extra one here, same as in the picture. Fits right on the factory holes that are drilled and tapped on the side of the receiver bridge. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Ted
