ACR Media and Info Thread

Mine came with the super ACR trigger. It is definitely nicer than my buddy's stock trigger pull but I don't know if it's $300 nicer. I doubt I would have paid for it if the rifle didn't come with it.

What's fireclean? I can't tell a difference between how mine cycles from the video.

How much does the Geissele trigger pull weigh? I'd love to try one to compare.

FIREClean is a lube. The action feels like it is riding on ball bearings. Did the same to a 1911. I will apply it on my m&p 9 when it shows up and I will run a few hundred rounds to see.

Where do you live? If there is a way to line up a range day you're more than welcome to run a few mags through it.
I don't have a trigger scale but compared to my buddy's it feels like lighter take-up then a cleaner break.

Got my ACR back from Heron Arms a while ago with it's new 12.5" barrel. Noticeably lighter and better balanced. Stainless 1/7 twist with a 223 Wylde chamber.

I also got my acr back from Herron last month.
Bartlein 1:8 wylde 18.5".
Going to shoot it for load testing and groups if it ever warms up around here.

I like the thin profile. Have you run and gun with it?

I've only had it out to the range twice, haven't done anything other than put about 300 rounds through it from the bench. The balance is very nice though considering the barrel length and it seems to be very accurate. I'm going to the range Tuesday-Thursday as much as possible this week to do load testing. I have 6 different types of factory ammo and 500 rounds of handloads ready (5 round batches of testers with all different bullet and powder combinations). Will be posting pics of some of the better groups once I get through some of it.

I have 335, If I don't have 55gr FMJ/H335 in my collection of testers I'll make some to try, I have 100 more brass prepped and ready. :)

Seen.

I have thousands of 55 gr FMJBT @ 25 gr H335 already loaded for my AR. Turns out the ACR groups 1MOA @ 100m with that load. Quite happy about that!

Nice going guys!
Mine is still factory 16.5" for now, all I added is Magpul stuff (MVG, MSA and MS3). Pretty sure I'll go the DIY Dlask way and mount my Battlecomp 2.0 on it. Still deciding on optics but it'll be between a H1 and a compact Nightforce or maybe the Eotech HHS...

I want more of the 8.6" 300blk tho, that thing got my attention ;) damn!

I'm still undecided on what muzzle device my non restricted barrel is going to have. I like my Rainier Arms mini comp but for a field rifle which I may shoot without hearing protection from time to time I may end up putting on my Allen Gunworks linear comp.
I'm really impressed with the Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40 with mildot reticle and calibrated elevation turret out to 650yds. For $425 it seems like it was a really good deal.

Its a better deal than a NF for sure, but once you looked in one of these (I've got a 32mm on my micro 7) its hard to look elsewhere, I'd love a 24mm for the ACR.
And no matter what the Battlecomp hating thread is saying, I've got a 2.0 currently on a 11.5" AR and it tamed it pretty damn well. I like it.
I did pick up a BCM tho, I'll switch the AR to that once I get the NR ACR barrel, we'll see if the Battlecomp was worth more $ then for sure.

I know what you mean about once you look through a really good piece of glass, I have a NF on my 338 Lapua and could never go back to anything less. When it comes to lower power closer range though a step down to something like a Leupold is hardly noticeable. Sightron also makes some really nice optics for half the price of a NF. I have a 6-24x50 Sightron and my 5.5-22x56 Nightforce and other than the NF being built like a tank the glass quality and clarity is very close.
Sightron has a nice 1-7 which I was going to buy but then found the Leupold.

In an effort to help some of the newer guys to the platform or some of the guys thinking about getting into the ACR I would like to suggest we not only show off our accessories and new barrels etc but we also include where we got them from.
To start off, my 6.8SPC II barrel came from Questar but unfortunately I don't think they are making them any more. I believe they quit making them when Bushmaster failed to release parts like 6.8 bolts which is why I am still waiting for my backordered 223 bolt from Gravel which I will have machined to fit the 6.8 once it arrives. Wolverine has a few parts listed on their site but not much. I got my non restricted 223 barrel used but it is from Herron Arms and is 1:8 twist and Wylde chamber. I don't know where the Super ACR trigger was purchased but I'm sure someone out there can help us out with where to find them. Gravel Agency is the importer and can get pretty much all factory parts but you need to call them to make orders as the last time I checked they didn't have anything in their catalog.
Dlask offers a drop in non restricted barrel with no gas system for $550, the gas system is very easy to swap if you have a straight profile punch set and a torx driver set. Takes about 15 minutes or less depending on your mechanical ability. I'm not sure if they cross-drill the bottom of the barrel for the taper pins but it isn't hard to drill those if you have a drill press and a jewelers file set.
Don't worry about having to strip your gas system since once you have it classified as non restricted you can't legally swap the shorter barrel back on without calling in to re-register it and since it will need to be re-verified every time you want to go back to non restricted which costs money since verifier's don't work for free it's not something you are going to do regularly.

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff so feel free to add your sources guys.
