No actually it doesn't, the amount of rumors that come out of trials like the one that won the contract in the UK for example does not prove they are equal. At least that is what i think you are referring too. If I recieved money for how many times I hear false or exaggerated stories of HK myths being pumped out and rehashed I could afford another black rifle 308 from KAC.

There are a lot of different models and guns built to meet specific requirements and better more expensive materials used to sometimes win contracts.

The HK417 used in that trial were of older stock and last minute entries...

I'm not trying to say that the HK is a bad rifle. It's a fine rifle. But so is the LMT. For 1200 bucks less. That's all I'm trying to say.
.

I probably would have voted AR10 SASS is available (plus I have a close relative to it)..but I chose HK just because I'd like to have one.

One mention of note. The LMT we can buy is the same rifle that goes to the military contracts. The others can't say that. Even my Armalite is a special version that was never available to the public. The SR25 isn't the M110 being used and neither is the HK the same version.

HK weighs less than the LMT, but LMT you can get shorter barrels made by LMT for the rifle... I really want the SR25 with the dimpled barrel though, that would be amazing.

The POF product line that were coming in are very interesting as well.. Not much love being shown for POF so far, very few of there rifles are around but I would like to hear some customer reviews if possible.

I chose the XCR primarily based on its classification. I could get any rifle I want but bought the XCR-L because it's "off the record". For me, that represents "the best"...

Shoot a few sets of 10 round groups vs. an Lmt or kac at 300 yards and you'll change your mind pretty damn quick.
I know I did.

So other than the colour the version of KAC SR25 being sold is the same as the M110 military contract rifle? I'm guessing that's the one listed on your site for 6K?

One problem with knight's guns is they continuously make refinements on their systems. Some later SR-25s offer improvements over original M110s that were issued, but if you are comparing similar year productions, they are nearly identical.
Aside from not having the adjustable fixed buttstock, my SR-25 (base rifle) is the same as an issued M110.

many moons ago, I had a HK G3 (semi) and it was an extremely accurate rifle. Kicked like a mule for a 308 (which means not a helluvalot, but ...), and I could shoot a 6" group at 400+ yds. with the battle sights. But... it was finnicky as hell, and really, really, fussy about what I fed it. That beind said, I would LOVE to get my hands on another one (not prohib or restricted, though. It was my go-to gun)

1. You mean the XCR-M?
2. The RFB is "off the record" as well....and it's a bullpup ;)

No, for the poll, I chose XCR-M. To explain my choice, I pointed out that I bought an XCR-L over other (possibly better) black rifles, primarily because of its classification. As for the RFB, I really don't find them visually appealing. I'm sure they are very good rifles but just not my taste. I would like to get an NR ACR some day.

And not much better accuracy than the xcr-m.
The point of a .308 black rifle is the improved terminal ballistics at longer ranges.
No point to shooting one at longer ranges if they can't hold at least a consistant 1.5 moa or less.
For closer ranges, you might as well go 5.56 or 7.62x39, save some money on ammo, and have more manageable recoil.
Best solution is an accurate .308 black rifle :)

I have owned or currently own and have fired:

DPMS 308
RFB
Norinco/springfield
FN

And if I included my 7.62 x 39 XCR for comparison, I would vote for the DPMS. Unmatched accuracy for a semi among that group, IMHO.
