CORE 15-U.S. made AR's

The most recent shipment has just been approved and will be shipping on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. A boat load of D.I. models will be on this order and we'll take the pre-order off the website as they will be available for immediate shipping by mid January.

PM if you have any questions...

Gary

That's good news. DI guys only, or piston guns too?

Can't wait to read some Canadian reviews.

I'll be posting a detailed review as soon as I recieve my MOE DI rifle, rain, snow or shine. I've had the chance to physically handle both the CORE 15 rifles as well as the NEA rifles. These CORE 15 rifles are a beautiful gun. I will also try to see if I could do a side by side comparison if permited, as these both seem to be the hot ticket items right now, but I'll post about it in a seperate post.

Alright so call me ignorant, stupid uninformed or whatever, why do the piston driven models all have gas blocks up front and the direct impingement models all have the ugly (IMO) front sight post??

Can the front sight posts be removed or do they serve some function other than simply being a sight?? if removed will the barrel be scuffed underneath?

I ask because the NEA's are direct impingement and have a gas block as well. I thought the gas block was specific to piston systems.

Id seriously consider a D.I tac model so long as that damn post can come off and a front troy or magpul can be thrown on the rail instead.

Basically the gas block is the base of the piston driven models. It serves to drive the piston and control the gas.

The front sight can be removed by punching a couple of pins, there may be some marking similar to that of what you see when you take rings off a scope...

Different fronts can be definitely installed...

There's a good article in GWLE on the CORE product, and the AA piston has very good reviews and reliability.I'm trying to send to a few guys from work your way! :)

People have been calling looking for reviews on these rifles...here are a couple of reviews done recently by Small Arms Review magazine and a excellent write-up done by Guns and Weapons For LE.

My decision is between a Daniel Defence M4 V3 or Core 15 Tac M4...maybe I missed. Does anyone have any insight as to the better model? I am new to the AR family and need some guidance! I plan on running some heavy grains and already have all my furniture...

Call Gary at Wanstalls. There is a shipment waiting to clear customs. If they are 1:7 twist then you should be good to go with the heavier bullet. However they may be 1:9 so you better call first. I am waiting for my M4 DI.
