Crusader Arms Crypto

At the expense of legal process, even if you win at the end, you aren’t really winning. So there isn’t no value trying to err on the side of safety.

To be more clear, having an NR FRT beats not having an FRT(When similar design have Prohibited FRT!)
I think everybody is on the same page with regards to that, he's more trying to convey the fact that an NR FRT can very easily (and arbitrarily) become a Prohib FRT overnight. With regards to the Crypto, imo there is no difference if it doesn't have an NR FRT right now and gets prohibbed in 6 months vs it having an NR FRT right now and getting prohibbed in 6 months. An NR FRT isn't a guarantee of anything and provides a domestically manufactured gun no more protection than simply having no FRT entry.

IMO, buy what you want when you can and deal with further bans as they appear. Life is too short to stress about what that vile scum in Ottawa can or will do ;)

Regarding the FRT I assumed it needed one if it was imported??
FRT is only needed if the firearm is imported or exported or status change. Since there would be no reason to export the Crypto why do it? I'm not sure how people think it's some sort of safety net. If you have been paying attention to what has happened over the past few years I think the evidence is in.

The Firearms Reference table is intended to be a catalogue of all known firearms - an ambitious undertaking. If you can access the official FRT, you will be impressed by the enormous amount of data available, including photographs.
An FRT entry is a description of the firearm and includes the classification. A firearm can't be imported until it has been classified, which will be part of its FRT entry.
You can rest assured that a FRT catalogue description of the Crypto has been prepared. Just not published in the posted Firearms Reference Table yet. Perhaps a decision has not been made to date respecting the classification of the Crypto, and the CFP is waiting for this determination before publishing the entry.
At present, the classification of the Crypto appears to be pending; so by default it is non-restricted, based on its physical characteristics.

I think the bigger concern people should have is the implementation of the ban of pinned magazines. My feel is that the government is overwhelmed with delivering on its promise to buyback the 1500 models and adding new ones to the list would only make that task harder. It also wouldnt give the opportunity to do a flashy press conference.

Moving forward and implementing the law of c21 which would ban pinned magazines is much more likely in the near future IMO

I don't think that pinned magazines are going to ever be prohibited. The SKS that's used for hunting by Canadas aboriginal people has a pinned magazine. Is the government going to make them install permanently altered 5 round magazines into their SKS's - I highly doubt it. The SKS saved a lot of semiautomatic firearms that we can purchase today. It will also save the pinned magazines. Just my 2 cents.

The Liberals could give 2 sh#ts about the natives. They would give them x amount of time to use and replace them same as what they said when they tried to slip more firearms (including the SKS) through the last Bill.

The main point being:

Indigenous people and their government reps (liberal, NDP, bloc) all went under massive heat during the c21 proposal which included the sks.

The SKS being utilized in such high number by the community may be one of the biggest drivers in ensuring pinned mags don’t get banned.

Libs don’t care, but when votes / support are brought up they tend to smarten up, even a little bit.

I just looked at the Crusader Arms website for complete Crypto rifles. It now say out of stock but the ETA is still 31 October. Upper/lower sets are out of stock as well. I'm guessing they are trying to catch up with their orders. I ordered a complete rifle on 8 Sept and anxiously waiting for mine.
