Crusader Arms Crypto

So what are the odds the Crypto skirts through the lib bans entirely? We could (hopefully) be getting an early election late Jan/early Feb, but the next round of OIC is scheduled for late Feb right? Will this just get cancelled and not happen if the Cons. get in beforehand?

Sorry for slightly off topic but just thinking about the short term fate of the Crypto lol.

In the current state of this country, we the people hereby claim back Canada, either way by an election or ..... or else

The Crypto was designed after C21 and in compliance with C21 by having proprietary magazines only designed for 5 rounds. It follows exactly what C21 laid out for newly designed firearms. If they add it to the ban list, they are circumventing their own law, which should nullify everything.
After all the things that the lab has deemed an AR variant, you really think any of that matters one iota to the Libs?

2020 oic added more terms to what a variant is. by adding the words "modified version of" the crytpro, just like the MS, is simply a modified ar15. they took an ar15 and modified a single take down pin. that is why the MS went from being not an ar15 to an ar15 after 2020, because they broadened the terms of the definition of variant. the cyptro will most likly get an ar15 prohib FRT, just like the MS

Some of the Crusader Arms Crypto rifles are $4500.00 and up on Gun-Post.

I guess the gouging begins, or at least while they are not on $hit-break's list.

I'm not much of a tactical tacti-cool person, but I would own a AR-15 if it was non-restricted.......:)

Are these models really this expensive?......:(
$2000 gets you the rifle and 6 mags from what I've seen from retailers.
Think most are buying them to make a quick buck. But retailers seem to be always out of stock, so people can ask for what ever they want for them. I'd love one but I ain't paying these prices from individuals

If the liberals ban this via OIC it will be proof that C21 is already failed legislation.
If they don't ban this and the buyback came around, the whole thing would be moot. They'd replace people's American made ar15s with Canadian made cryptos. Funneling a billion dollars to Canadian gun manufacturers. Poly would be pissed. Surely if this gets a good to go FRT then other companies will jump on it and start producing similar.

No matter what happens, the crypto exposed the stupidity of the gun ban.

I know which outcome my money is on, The one where more guns are banned.

The foolishness of how we got to this place is so common now it has lost its shine and the fact that none of the anti gun MSM will have one single article on it means that it will never be on Joe & Jane Averages radar (even though they will ultimately be paying for it)

Finally had my #31 drill bit and 2/0 hand reamer come in and got my .625 FSB pinned onto my Faxon 20" gunner profile barrel, spent most of my time making sure everything was level and in line. It turned out great, wasn't that difficult of a job but I wouldn't reccomend doing it yourself unless you have a mill or good drill press.

I also picked up the squared off handguard slip ring as well so the whole barrel assembly of my retro 'Nam M16 is complete. Now all I am waiting for is my receiver set to get back from refinishing, the A1 detachable carry handle to come in from Brownells (Ordered 2 by accident if someone else is making a clone), and the proper bayonet. I ordered the correct M16 sling off Ebay and then opened my junk cabinet and saw the exact same one hanging out of a box. I swear I have never bought or been given one of these slings before so it was a little odd to see it as soon as I opened the door. Saved myself the $50 anyway.

I hope they release the upper receivers by themselves soon but seeing as that they can't keep up with the demand of the receiver sets it probably won't be for a while. Anyone interested in just a lower? :D
I'm also hoping they release uppers, I'd snap up a couple.

So, who here got one of the new batch of receiver sets? I checked one out Yesterday and am kinda shocked at the lack of quality control on them. I'm curious if this is normal for all of them or if they're rushing to get them out quickly and letting quality slack. The machining seems good enough in the actual areas that matter, but there are lots of areas with clearly visible tool marks, gouges, aluminum flash, very light engraving, and generally poor anodizing quality. Given the price, I'd expect them to at least look cleaner. I'd like to hear others thought on this matter and how theirs look so I can judge if this one was just an anomaly. I know we have to make concessions up here in Soviet Canuckistan regarding price and quality vs. what ARs cost down South but this seems kinda ridiculous to me.

I haven't seen any new batches yet, still waiting on my preorder. but I am assuming they are rushing them out as quick as they can. If their programs and machines are setup properly they should be producing quality parts, but if they are rushing and shipping everything, I'm sure their will be some lower quality parts. but they have us by the balls and can set the price to what it is.
A MRA Renegade kit is $200 cheaper with a BCG and that quality is 100% but it's not a NR semi.

Same issues I experienced with the earlier receiver sets, esp. the engraving being so light. The anodizing though was a PITA to get off

Finally had a chance to run my Crypto build this past weekend - unlubed, it was finicky with a variety of ammo at the start (it would consistently chamber a round, and would consistently fire the chambered round, but wouldn't reliably eject... it was often basically functioning as a straight-pull bolt action), but after I lubed the hell out of it, it worked just fine with brass-cased ammo. It still did NOT like steel-cased ammo, though.... same problem persisted with steel-cased.

As well, there's something wrong with the bolt catch - it won't engage the bolt reliably. I think the problem is either with the bolt catch itself (it's from a cheap no-name LPK I had in the parts drawer), though it's possible that it's something out of spec with the receiver itself. I'm going to explore this further.

Aside from that, it was shooting minute-of-clay reliably with irons at 100 yards.

So, overall, a bit of a mixed experience, but I'm still happy with it. I'm looking forward to getting it out again after I make some adjustments to it.

Is it a Faxon barrel? I've had this problem with Faxon years ago, resolved it by a very small amount of chamber polishing.

It's a SAK-marked complete barrel assembly from an old Colt SP1.
Check the chamber for any nicks or burrs? I wouldn't think an original SP1 barrel would have a tight chamber. Another possibility is that there is a gas port misalignment (from assembling the FSB/ gastube ) that is limiting the amount of gas to cycle the action.
