Hey guys I have a quick question. Where did you guys buy your Defiance actions from? And how much $$? I really want to pick one up in 300 win mag.
Got mine from Tac-ord, it is engraved with the tac-ord logo. Not cheap, but it's also among the best you can buy.

absolutely, Ive never experienced a single stage that feels quite as good as this one its definitely going to be a huge seller for them, the internals are also insanely simplistic as well, and nothing sweeter then build right here in the Great White North!

After several long months of waiting for Gravel Agencies to get all the import paperwork together, my double stack Accurate Mag bottom metal has finally arrived. Playing with it now, I'll snap some photos in a bit and upload them for you guys shortly.

Well, the quality of the bottom metal appears to be excellent, good finish and fit, and real comfortable to use.
Now to the part that has me pretty ticked off...
After examining the magazines for a bit, I have two complaints.
Firstly, one of the mags arrived with damage to the feed lips, two small nicks on the feed lips that are either from a manufacturing defect or somebody dropping the mag on the ground. Normally I wouldn't even think twice about something small like that, because it would not affect the function of the magazine, but at close to $150.00 a mag, I would expect a flawless finish. Even still, as long as the mag works, I normally wouldn't bother taking the time to try and replace it... except for the elephant in the room...
Which brings me to the second issue, and this one is the one that caused me to actually write up the seller asking him what went wrong and what can be done to fix it... the 6 shot double stack magazines that I got specifically for the 6 shot capacity... don't hold 6 cartridges... they hold 5.5. There is absolutely no way that this magazine body holds 6.
I took the magazines down, wondering if perhaps somebody had internally pinned the magazines, thinking they applied to the 5 shot rule for semi autos in canada, but there is nothing inside that blocks the follower at all, everything is business as usual.
Now again, I am very happy with the bottom metal and the quality of the mags, these things look and feel great, but I am miffed that after spending a significant premium for double stack capacity ($730 all said and done after import and freight) and waiting several months for the import to be worked out, I got a damaged magazine (minor damage to be fair), and what are apparently the incorrect mags, so either the factory is not being truthful with their listed cartridge capacity or they sent the wrong mags, but I'll be darned if I can find a mention of 5 shot mags on their webpage...
I'm not upset at Gravel at all, I just emailed them maybe half an hour ago and am waiting for a reply on how to proceed and get what I ordered.
Oh well, it's a delay, but at least it shouldn't hold up the final end date of the build too much, still waiting on the manners stock anyways.

Good god this thing is addictive... quite likely the best trigger I have ever used, and that is saying a lot. No creep at all, and the most awesome, predictable break you could ever ask for, and virtually no over-travel.
If I was to describe my initial impressions with one word, "superb" comes to mind quite readily.
Super easy to install, and the machining and finish is perfect. Trigger weight adjustment screw is great as well, has very precise "clicks" to it when adjusting the weight, according to the manual it is roughly 1oz per click. The clicks are super tactile, think of the scope clicks on any high end scope and you get a good idea of what I am talking about. For such a small thing, even that is built wonderfully well.
My first impressions, barring some good range time with this trigger? Bargain of the decade! Outstanding trigger with an awesome price. Seriously... why are you still reading this? You should be preordering it already!!!!!

Very clear instuctions for the technically impaired. Even somebody with 10 thumbs could do this in just a few minutes.
New vs factory. The factory trigger that I tuned to 3.25lbs and very little creep, clean break, low over travel, was previously my favorite trigger as I tuned it to my specs, but the triggertech is in an entirely different league. I'm predicting a serious run on people selling off their timneys and geissele triggers on the EE very shortly.
5 minute install, even by a half in the bag dummy like me.
Test all safeties thoroughly, in various ways, and drop test the rifle. Triggertech passed with flying colors.
I seriously think Triggertech should just drop all of their marketing and just address this GIF to all other trigger makers...

That's great! I have a TT on the way! Can't decide if it will go in my 7LRM build or my 6x47 Lapua build I'm currently working on. I also have a Cadex sitting on the shelf. I think the Cadex may go in the 6x47 because its going in an MDT chassis and I like that it has an adjustable trigger shoe. Really stoked about the TT line though. Spoke with Frank at TT yesterday and they are still planning a 3oz version for late this year!
Heck... has it already been over a year since I started gathering these hard to find parts? I'm was as amazed when I looked at the date I first started this build as these Jurassic park characters are..
Well update time...
I have finally received word that after 13 months of wait, build, and shipping time, my importer has finally gotten my stock into their possession!!!!
I can hardly wait for this thing to arrive... this is by far the longest I have ever waited for a single part. Now to send all the parts off and get it built after I see my stock...

Stock is here guys! She is a real beauty! It feels amazing, build quality matching and exceeding McMillan quality. Fit and finish is perfect, and the stock locks up as solidly in the open position as a fixed stock. Simply amazing!
Sending off the barrel off to tac-ord to do the barreled action, then to corlanes to inlet the bottom metal into the reciever, then finally back to tac-ord for finishing.
