I have a minty Weaver K 2.5 like that one an 2 K4's, all with post crosshair reticles. Nicely Fuddy.
Yup, I see the 760 and 740/742 at the top of the list for Fudd guns. Anything that was cheap to buy and cheap to feed factory ammo from the local hardware store.
The list ....
- Remington 760
- Remington 740, 742
- Winchester M94
- Marlin 336
- Lee Enfield
- Early 700s and 70s

Gatehouse that really should be a pump action to up the fudd. Points could be awarded if the rings tip off to the side
Disagree on M94 and 336 to many of us that was their first deer gun ( still have mine ) , that was what got me into centre fire rifles. Fast, fun a stepping stone onto other stuff.
Almost fully semi auto.
Bonus fudd points if the mag is loaded with 220's and 180's.![]()
A Fudd is not a gun but a mentality.

I inherited almost exactly that rifle from my Fudd uncle, who bought it from an even worse Fudd friends estate. As a result of what I described in my first post in this thread, it was the all time worst jam-o-matic. It was a single shot that looked like a semi.
I think this is the truth.
Ok, I'll bite.
The most popular gun among Fudds seems to be some sporterized version of an SMLE in .303 British. If they like to hunt other things, then a Cooey single shot 22 or combination 22/410. If other birds besides grouse are on the list then a break action 12 gauge possibly sold by Sears & Roebuck.
These are also known as "The farmer three" as gun collections go.
Are you asking to fit in, as it were? Undercover Fudd so to speak?
Have some respect for the OP
It should have a 4x non-variable scope, leather strap made from an old belt, and notches carved for each deer shot. Maybe even has someone's SIN number pencil engraved somewhere.
What is the accepted definition of a "Fudd Gun" and the expected accessories that come with it?
Best to reply with pics if possible, general thoughts and experience, but please avoid any "Fudd vs Mall Ninja" lines of conversation in order to keep this thread on a positive note.
