CGN lower

anything happening with this?

Well a "dealer" has come forth and agreed to support the group buy. The final design is "under construction" and should be out for approval in the next few days. Right now, barring any unforeseen complications, the project will move forward. More to follow.

I'm in for the restricted to canadiangunnutz extra. I think its a nice touch...
Lose the coloring, and the auto marking as it it useless IMHO.

heres any idea why not make an Ar15 style uper and lower that can't be used with conventional upers and lowers as from my knowlage that that is one of the definitions of an 15 lower

just an idea going through all the work might as well atleast try and get past the restricted laws legaly if it worked you'd have a market because hey you have an ar 15 thats NR but allas this is likly just a pipe dream of fail till there are no liberals or NDP in parlement

The proposed design I have seen put the dealer logo on the right side of the receiver. The ratonale is that the dealer can sell these lowers to outside of CGN, becaue he fears people will back out and leave him with unsellable lowers.

I think if we want something that is truely special to CGN, people will have to make deposit for these lowers. That way, we can guarantee the dealer won't be stuck with a bunch of speical lowers that he can sell.

A deposit would be easy enough. If someone wants one, putting some money down should not be acceptable.

Sorta depends on the dealer and the "lead time" and how much of a deposit...

Would someone please just say who the "dealer" is and either figure out what and how you are gonna do it and do it.. Or stop pussy footing around and say it ain't gonna happen..

I leave for Oz in 2 weeks and I'd like to see what we are gonna get if it's gonna happen and decide if I want to be involved...

I may not have internet over there for a while as I'll be working in a locked down facility financial institution...

Mildot is doing all the work here, but I looked at the poll....so I figured out I will let this out in the bag. I just don't want the dealer to have a huge surprise when they got very little order once it is finalized, because they insist on putting their logo on the side. It is going to be a visible logo.

If you guys do not want the logo, better to sound off now and ready to put down the deposit. From what I was told the price is going to be more than a typical lower, say made by STAG.

I personally wouldn't mind to put down a deposit depending of the time of the turn-around and the actual price of the thing... having the company logo kinda defeat the purpose IMHO.

Wolverine Supplies is the dealer and Sabre Defence the manufacturer. It is not a question of "Pussy footing around" I can not get a cost until you all decide what you want ingraved. Minimum 100 pieces, I am afraid that if I wait for 100 deposits this will never happen, if I stick my neck out and order 100 I must be free to sell them on the open market if, after an agreed period, let's say 12 weeks they are not all sold, hence I suggested adding Wolverine Supplies. this was only a suggestion.

Lowers will be complete, I will not sell the first Sabre Defence lowers as stripped units as from previous experience people will try and assemble them from all kinds of parts, some good and some junk, and when things don't work the lower is blamed. Lowers will be an assembled unit less buffer tube assembly.

Agree on what you require and then I can quote a price.

Heck, we should pay in FULL when we order. We're big boys now, we should be able to make up our minds before ordering. If someone's changes his mind during production, too bad for him. He should be the one stuck with his indecision.

Please don't E-mail Wolverine Supplies directly on this subject. You as CGN members have to decide what you want as a GROUP purchase, then I can quote a price. You as a CGN GROUP have to decide how we allocate serial numbers, how many you require and what happens to the unsold balance. We do not have to have our name on the lowers if all prepaid with order. Please remember if we do it this way I will not order custom lowers until all are paid for so delivery will depend on how long it takes customer # 100 to pay.

If you want this to happen lets keep the talk going on this site so all intrested parties are aware of any problems or delays.

Since the "cat is out of the bag"
Zykopat will be posting the pics of the lower.

Well I’m pleased to announce that the design has been finalized for the CGN lower. The lower will be produced by Sabre and will be available through Wolverine Supplies. The lowers will/should be prepaid. John has indicated that you will have “options” at the time of ordering. The lowers will include a lower parts kit. This was decided upon by the site admin and John to minimize any fitting issues.

The design that was selected was the most voted on by the CGN poll. The design is final, and we are aware that it “won’t be all things to all people” but that’s expected. I feel it is a good design and satisfies the majority of CGN’ers. Please don’t take issue with the design, If you’re not happy with it, then you don’t have to purchase the lower. Some of the issues left will be the painting or engraving of the logo, both Wolverine and the Sabre. If we open up the design again at this point then IMO, it won't get done.

The idea of the lower was proposed by me since I believe that it is a worthwhile project. I spend a fair amount of time on this site and the experience has been 99.9% positive. The lower represents the commitment of the members, site admin, and the support of the sponsors.

The project still has some details to work out, and that’s to be expected. Please be patient and let’s pull together as a team and make this a success. On that note a "prepaid" lower is the way to go IMO.That enables the "dealer" to put an exact # on how much product he is going to order. Once again, as far as the serial #'s go I'm not sure if this can be done, and satisfy all the folks who want a specific #. I know that in another group buy, this one knives, this idea wasn't accommodated due to the frustration it would cause and squabbling. The key to the success on this is deciding that I want to be part of the "group buy" and be content with the project, even if it isn't "exactly" want you want. If you were after a "custom" serialized lower then this project won't make you happy.

In closing I want to thanks Zykopat and the site admin and Wolverine Supplies. The CGN lower will be the first Sabre product to launch in the Canadian market, so that in itself makes it a milestone.
