FOC creditcard fraud?

Oh yeah and some dude tried to purchase a $1,227 Air France ticket with my account about 2 months after the first instance of fraud. First realized someone was doing it when I randomly kept getting BMO log-in verification codes to my SMS one night.

Several minutes later, I got a call from someone claiming to be a BMO representative who wanted to warn me of the fraud taking place.

But they wanted me to verify my identity by..... telling them the verification code I was being sent... Immediately grew suspicious and asked them for another verification method but they wouldn't budge.

Hung up and called the official line and they confirmed that BMO wasn't the one calling. During the call, the dude also unsuccessfully tried to call me about 7 different times.

The ultra-thick middle-east accent + poor call quality should've given it away.

Oh well..

exactly! it's not only about credit card fraud anymore, as I said a month ago it's about identify theft.
It amazes me that people still let go with this f--king dealer.

You really don’t get it don’t you ? Nothing to do with the dealer. Get yourself educated on IT and fraud. That way you not, like so many, blame the store where it started. They are victim as much as the person CC that is frauded. Any store can be frauded. ANY.

The inaction to the fraud of FOC caused this whole shenanigan.
they covered the story, hid it, It has every f--king thing to do with them.
how much do they pay you to defend their a$$?

The biggest issue people have is that FOC knew of this issue and did not inform their customers or temporarily shut down the cc payment option. I made a purchase well after they admitted to have known about the breach and my cc was compromised.
I still recieved tons of promotional emails from them, but never anything about the potential fraud.
That is why I will not be purchasing from them anymore. I run a small business and to me what they did, or didn't do, is unacceptable.

It unfortunate but you’re the only one that doesn’t get it….. This dealer has known about the CC fraud that came from their website for a long time and not once admitted it to any of their customers and never fixed the problem or admitted that it happened.

It’s great to be educated on IT and the store should have done that. But thanks for pointing out that they’re the victim of CC fraud, lol
f:P:2:

Anyone who thinks what theyre doing is okay is an idiot full stop. Yes fraud happens and companies deal with it when it begins and put a stop to it. This has been going on for a few years now and you dont think its an inside job?. Have fun fighting the fraud charges on youre card Ill go elsewhere

FOC owns and operates the FOC website. Thus, it is incumbent upon them to ensure that their customers don't get defrauded, utilizing the sort of back-end testing that companies are able to conduct.

I also should not have just learned about the reason why I lost $2600 5 months ago from a CGN thread. Where was the mass customer email acknowledging the data breech and documenting their actions to prevent it in the future? I guarantee you that there are FOC customers who still don't know why they were a victim of financial fraud.

FOC were the victims for about a week until Visa let them know that they were getting a ton of fraudulent transactions from their customers. When FOC did #### all about it, let nobody know, launched a sale, and continued to take people’s money, they became culpable. As SOOOO many people have said, it’s not the breach itself, it’s how they handled it.

You really don’t get it do you?

soooo FOC is the victim? 🤔🤔🤔 FOC is an entity. The customers are victims. "FOC'$ $ilence $peak$ volune$"

If you can get past the mantrap and someone actually is available to actually to buzz you in.

This place acts like a paw shop now.
During the business hour when they open, you want to walk in, you still have to ring the doorbell, a grimly looking guy will stick his head out from behind the door and ask what's your business. You have to give a convincing a reason (i.e. pick up, buy something naming specific models/makes...etc), then he closed door and came back 5 minutes later telling you that you may or may not come in.
What kind of shady business would ever practise like this?

Even though they would let me in, even though I would pay cash only, even though they have the last item I want with lowest price on this planet, I would NOT go.
