Our club requires that you sign a document (kept on file for one year) that you have read and understand the club rules. A second such document if you use the indoor range.
We also require some training before you are allowed to wear a holstered gun anywhere on club property. Your membership card is so stamped. Why? because we have had issues with people buying those range kits - gun, holster and mag pouches, with no clue as to what the hell they are doing.
When you see someone with a loaded gun walk off the range to his vehicle to get something, it gets your attention. There is no shooting sport that allows you to leave the firing point with a loaded gun.
Members who are LEO's get 'grandfathered' and based on some of the gun handling I've witnessed from them, I think that is misplaced confidence.
