Gunsmiths that you recommend

Dennis Sorensen aka guntech here on CGN.

X1000000000!!!
Dennis goes above and beyond IMO!
I shipped a couple triggers for him to do from NB here, he was working on them the day they arrived and were in the mail coming back within 24hrs!
Had to ship one back out to him and samething again, was working on it the day it arrived and even paid me back the postage from NB as well as paying to return it to me! You just dont get that from everyone!

Highly Recommended!:D

Carman Willows from Elgin Ontario. It's not too far from my place and I need a small job done on a rifle. Anyone can tell me what the turnaround time is like? Does he actually have a storefront or does he work from his residence?

Thanks

I am glad your experiences were different. My experience with Rodger/DARK was a s**tshow.

I sent him a pistol which needed minor work. It came back with a completely different problem. Seems during the takedown, he lost one of the pins and instead of replacing it with a pin, made his own out of a very small allen key. Never mentioned the minor issue that the barrel wasn't locking into place. Is that bad?

Then when I emailed him about it (no answer when I tried calling), he suggested that maybe the locking mechanism just needed to be worked in and to tap it with a hammer. When I responded that it didn't work, I got no reply. At no point did he mention that he rigged up a pin. Didn't discover that until I took it to a local smith.

1. Rodger Kotanko - Dark International Trading Company / RK Custom Guns. Rodger just finished a rather beat-up Gamemaster 760 for me. He turned a run-of-the-mill hunting rifle into one helleva accurate and pretty rifle.

Rodger gets my vote.Excellent work

I have no hesitation in recommending Armco(Gunnar), DARK(Rodger) and MD Charlton. They have done good by me. :)

Rodger Kotanko at DARK International, Simcoe Ontario.
The best of the best.

I've been frequenting CGN for a few years now and this is the first time I've looked at this section.

Without a doubt I would recommend Gordon Whitman of Blue Mountain Sports, Browns Flat, NB. He has built a couple of rifles for me in the past, both of which were outstanding in fit, finish, and accuracy. I always left his shop knowing more about firearms then when I arrived.
