**Huge CGN .264 Bullet Test Result** (lots of pics!)

Thanks for the effort for all of our benefit.

Really great to see something like this, usually its a four bullet test in a outdoor mag with biased results to those that promo product to the writers.

Thanks again

The Scirroco performed like I would have expected. I use the same 130gr in my 260, and 155/165gr in my 300wsm. They have very good (not GREAT) penetration, hold together well and expand to a broad front.
I had a severe back to front angled shot on a nice Muley, 150yds quartering away sharply. The bullet entered a couple of inches behind the last rib, broke a couple of ribs (shattered) on both sides, punched through the shoulder and stopped just under the skin on the side of the neck. This was a 150 through the 300wsm. The bullet was flat down to about 1/4" from the base, was about 7/8" of an inch in diameter and retained about 135grs.

Man for all the Effort,Time and $$$$ invested, I would think this should be a sticky post if I have ever seen one?????? :D Hey Mods lets get this done!

We've been calling for this to be stickied for a long time now.....never seems to happen though. IMO this is one of the most valuable threads by far on CGN.

Absolutely awesome. Thank you for doing this. I have a new Swede that needs a custom load.
This is a HUGE help.
definitely stickie worthy!

Steve, the sheer breadth and attention to detail of your work is something that would be hard to match by anyone else.

Now that you've done the 6.5, I nominate you to try a .30-06 or .300 Winchester Magnum test for comparison :) I'm sure you'd have no shortage of donations for bullets. I myself would be happy to provide at least five different types of .30 cal bullets...

It's been said that a 6.5x55 kills game just as effectively as a .30-06. I for one would be curious to see how a 168-grain TripleShock at 2,900 or a 180-grain Accubond at 2,800 would compare in terms of penetration and damage.

If you ever think of doing a .30 cal test and need another person to help out with the chores (reloading, photography, providing a rifle, etc.) you should not hesitate to contact me!

Thanks guys. You guys just reminded me to incorporate Part Deux in the original thread, I totally forgot about that. I recently bougth a Bullet Test Tube to try out. Should be less mess than the wet newspaper.

I'm surprised that I never commented on this before; excellent job! I think wet news print is an excellent media, as it is repeatable by anybody, and in my oppinion, probably more valid than ballistic gel.
Things like this should be sticky'd
Mike

excellent comparisons

Gorgeous work displaying the results.
I shoot alot of BERGERS and would'a been curious how they compared.
I'd happily supply you the bullets but I dont shoot 6.5
