LAR 15 mags are no longer directly refered to in the RCMP special bulletin

Ok
You are saying a bulletin is not the law

Can someone here post the law

Show them whatever you want. A bulletin is not law. An LEO that doesn't know the law won't be well enough versed in it to know whether the bulletin is old or not.

It's not sneaky either, the bulletin may be old, but it was never law anyways.

You can also reference the new bulletin. It may not reference LAR mags specifically, but it says the same thing. Just make sure your mag says pistol on it.

the law states:
5 rounds limit originally intended for centerfire semi auto rifle mag
10 rounds limit originally intended for pistol mag

so by extension if you use a mag its 10 or 5 rounds, the law doesnt state where and how you should use it or even what you should fill it with.

There is no exception. It's just 5 round rifle of original caliber regardless what it is actually used for. And 10 rounds pistol of original caliber regardless what it is used for.

A law isn't going to state random examples.

Personally I would ignore the shooter in the stall next to me. I am not a LEO. And as long as he was shooting safely, I would not personally care. That is just my opinion though.
I guess everybody would handle it differently, however I have experienced such a thing and confronted the gentlemen and then reported it to the RSO when the shooter stated it was a stupid law. This can place the range in a bad light with the RCMP and eventually affect my shooting in the long run.

Please explain how it would go bad with the rcmp

I'm sorry you "reported" someone for doing something that was legal?

Or are you talking about an actual prohibited device and not an LAR magazine?

Sqr was referencing someone shooting a mini14 with a 20 round mag which could be a prohibited device.

I do my thing at the range and others do theirs. As long as someone is being safe, I haven't an issue with them...I will let those in charge of enforcing the law do the job of worrying about such things.
If I'm at the range it could be that guy with the 20 round mag is a leo, or maybe he's a manufacturer, or maybe a bulletin just came out that mag restrictions have been lifted, I don't know and don't care as long as he isn't putting anyone's safety in jeopardy.

Someone emailed the CFP on this omission and they (the RCMP) assured the guy that the RCMP were not going after LAR15 magazines, the example was removed to remove clutter, as having both the camp carbine example and the LAR example in the same bulletin was redundant, and they were just cleaning the bulletin.

Tag for download and printing. I got stopped just two weeks ago on my way home from work because the officer saw me put the beer I just bought in the front seat of the truck. He said it was illegal because it was in reach of the driver. I told him none of them were opened and it was completely legal. He said it still needed to go in the back seat, so whatever, I moved it to the back seat and showed him I could still reach it. Then I asked him what if I was in my plow truck? Its only a regular cab, he said that is okay. Somehow we got on to talking about firearms and magazines like the .50 beowolf and pistol mags in an AR, he had no clue and repeatedly told me it is illegal to have over five rounds in a centrefire semi auto and using pistol mags in a rifle is illegal and that it is in the CC. I told him to look into that and that he was wrong and on my way he sent me. No ticket for anything since I did nothing wrong. I just thought man, that guy is clueless, I wish I had recorded it on my phone.

my friend was CHARGED for beowulf magazines because of a clueless LEO at a checkstop back in november, the charges were eventually dropped a month later but still an eye opening example of how uninformed LEOs are about the actual laws. I know LEOs who are also gunnies who are way on top of the laws but Ive also seen some who nearly think that guns are illegal altogether.

I will be there this weekend picking up 3K of X39 ammo from 2 different members. :) , Hopefully im posted to Dundurn next. away from city folks....

corrosive or non corrosive?

I was getting annoyed at moronic facking fuddery from at all my ranges till i found abbotsford

The RCMP FP has determined "all" beowulf magazines are prohibited now.
