Chuck Hawks is hardly the definitive answer on anything...
I stole ths from another thread:

This info is from the Remington website. For those who haven't visited it yet, they have a ballistics page where you can compare up to 3 calibers & select from a variety of different bullet weights.
Muzzle Velocity
7.62x39mm - 125gr. PSP - 2365 ft/sec
30-30 Win - 125gr. PSP CL - 2175 ft/sec
30-30 Win -150gr SP CL - 2390 ft/sec
Energy (ft-lbs)
7.62x39mm - 125gr. PSP - 1552 (muzzle), 1180 (at 100 yrds)
30-30 Win - 125gr. PSP CL - 1313 (muzzle), 919 (at 100 yards)
30-30 Win - 150gr. SP CL - 1902 (muzzle), 1296 (at 100 yards)
The Velocity & Energy comparisons actually go up to 500 yards on the Remington site, and they also have Long Range & Short Range Trajectory comparisons up to 500 yards as well, which show how high or low the bullet rises or drops at each distance.

My comment: Looks like the energy at 100 yards isn't much different. 116 ft/lbs
Here is what Prospers chrony says:
(stolen form the same thread)
Source: Me & my chrony.
