Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

1992 Browning Citori
010-16.jpg

I have very little info on this one. It is marked Zoli & Figley Gardone Italy. Sidelock extractor. Not very pretty but a good shooter. Choked Full and Fuller I use it for Turkey.

You sure that it doesn't read "Figli" instead?

So "Zoli and Sons".

Although I've never visited the area, I can imagine the "casino" of a bunch of Italian makers, all related to each other in some form, sharing (stealing) machinery, parts, designs... My sxs is marked "Armi U. Gitti, Gardone V.T." It was bought new by uncle back in the 50's. The birds that were hunted included pheasants, but more often it was smaller birds like European Starlings that were taken.

Zoli and Figli.

This is a Baker New Era Nitro Hammerless that I picked up a while back. Never got a chance to take photos until now. The gun has been refinished - wood and metal - except that the owner at the time elected to refrain from refreshing the case colors (a decision I'm happy about, since it's not worth the risk of warping the receiver). The closeup shows the vivid damascus pattern.

Before anyone calls me out on it, I know that black powder shells are not necessary for this gun (I don't use them in the Baker), but I included them in the photo so I'd have an image of the shells and the box when talking about them in the future.

The bow, quiver, and arrows were made in the traditional methods by a contemporary native craftsman.

Sorry about the quality of the pics. Sometimes I get the macro focus right and other times it eludes me.

Here's a close up of the left side lock of an interesting gun I just took delivery of.
Very cool, because although it is not a real high end piece, it has hammers and chrome lined bores, I intend to use it for realy nast weather hunting with BP loads and Nice Shot insteasd of wrecking my Westley Richards in said nasty weather!
It is made by San Marco, BTW.

By strange coincidence, I picked up one of those, too. Mine has become my "go to" pheasant gun. I like it for pheasants because, in addition to the SXS open-hammer config that I like (and the right chokes), it can handle the heavy loads. With double under lugs, side clips, and a rib extension/Greener cross bolt, it doesn't get much more solid than that!!

To say I was impressed would be an understatement , for sure- pleasantly surprised would be a bit better!:p
Like my buddy said " WOW! silde lips that really ARE side lips!!"
They are very well fitted, and the ctoss bolt and Anson and Deeley release are very good.
it will be interesting to see how it works out.
Did yu get yours from Tradeex?

This is from another thread in here but figured it belonged in here too. This was my very first gun I ever owned. Father bought it for me 15 years ago and I only paid $75 for it. Don't know much about it. I have got varying "quotes" of whats it worth.

I tried to get photo's of all the markings on the barrel and action but the camera couldn't focus on them.

20gague02.jpg

the barrel says its a "Fca LAURONA-FIRAR"
there are a ton of markings undernieth of it too. choke 14.9-15.8 the other 15.2-15.8, 1250Gmc then either a "5" or an "s", AvC,850KGS, plus a whole bunch of symbols which i can't make any sense of. The only thinkg I know is the markings 20-70. I think this means 20 gague and 70mm? Which is 2 3/4'. Right?

the action: has symbols on it. 3 actually.

1. Is a shield/crest with an "X" in it with a knights head above.
2. looks like 2 bells making a cross with a "2" in the middle
3. is another shield/crest with either "BP" or "8P" with and sideways "0" undernieth it.

I'm not sure if this ID will help any but it would be nice to know what exactually I go! LOL.
