M40 Family - Who owns one?

Yup, nice shooting. That's the important part. As for correctness in a film, its probably no different than blowing up a classic car for a successful scene. Spending thousands to put paint on a hero car for a few seconds of screen time before it gets t-boned by a bus or something. As gunnutz/carnutz we appreciate the detail put into it but it ends up being scrap metal after the director calls Cut. All we can hope for is a weapon master on set that appreciates the little details that a few may catch in viewing. An MST-100 sprayed fde is nothing for HBO but its not something a guy like me would do, I had to pay real dollars for that scope. That being said, you may be Robin Masters and its no big deal.

Am I the only other guy old enough to get the Robin Masters reference? :p

I watched it when I was a kid and then re-runs in high school. Probably my all time favourite tv show. I heard they "re-booted" the show or something but it's probably an abortion like most reboots are... Thomas Magnum was a total bad-ass, haha

If I remember Sparrows it was an actual Unertl SSDS, and not a USO manufactured MST. The stock was a smear return and it was built on a 6 digit Remington and what I’m guessing was a TBA built mount. It was a pretty detail correct build close to what the purists in the US put together. I’ve never seen it since, it was pretty sweet.

Also guys, this seems to be the appropriate place to put this.

I am looking for the correct M24 SWS trigger to complete my M40A3 build.
Please let me know.

A batch of new Remington M24 triggers were sold off a few years ago but they are hard to come across these days.

In a pinch you can always use an older 40-x trigger with the allen type adjustment screw in the trigger shoe (not the other 40-x model where it’s a small slot head screw just under the bolt release tab). It looks pretty close and there are some out there still. That’s what I used until I picked up my M24 triggers.

Here’s an M24 trigger:

And this is an older 40-x

So it’s really hard to spot the difference through the trigger guard. For me, well OCD is a cruel mistress that’s all I can say.....

I too am the same way!

Thanks, I will. It's a clone not an actual M40. So parts were pretty easy to get ahold of. Scope and rings would be a bit harder to come by.

Remington 700 SPS Varmint left hand from Reliable Gun.
Boyd's walnut classic stock ordered from Boyd's
Scope Redfield 3x9 Accurange on Gun Nutz
Rings were also found on Gun Nutz (Leupolds are temporary).
Mount I modified and built.

Nice Job, looks great!

So my health took a turn for the worse and the same day my daily driver decided to kick the bucket, at the same time my monthly bills became due. I don't really want to do it but I'm looking at maybe listed the M40A1 for sale. If I do I'd be listing it for a pretty high price because I really don't want to sell it. I'd much rather find some other way to pay the bills.

I may be interested in the scope/mount if you want to break it up, PM me if you do
