I checked out some M-40 A3 stocks last night,,, I'm pretty lucky since I have a brand new Wild-Cat Composite Vartac ready to use.
They come with the wide fore-end and pistol grip drop,,, 2.2 lbs for mine since Stewart filled in the lug area """incase""" I decide to drop my Remmy 700 long action into it.
The reason I went with the Wild-Cat Composite stock is that the fore-end is filled full length with a centre section to prevent twisting when shooting off hand,,, bags or bypod.
They are pretty solid stocks to work with.
And made right here in Western Canada.
