No I havent seen another maxus around the range yet unfortunately. Just started a few weeks ago.
yeah there closed tomorrow so i will be doing that first thing monday morning. i really want to go to sporting clays tomorrow morning, but dont want to deal with this thing jamming at every stationI will mention that on monday for sure. thanks for your guys help!
Do youi have a second gun to take with you. I would try it again. Sometimes a little lube on a recoil spring will make a big difference or if it is still jamming but not as much maybe spring replacement time.
How many rounds do you think that gun has seen.??
Also looking at your clean pics again a stupid question you are taking the sleeve and piston apart correct?? Also what are you using to clean the vent holes in the barrel?? Welder tip cleaners

Jamming no matter what. Plus 95% of the time i will be at a skeet field so no more than 2 at a time allowed.
rembolt: I have no idea, but its missing the chamber by about 1/8".

I realize the 2 guns are a bit diferent as mine is a stalker and NVG is a sporting with no mag cut off . but looking at the 2 picture you can see that the carrier on my gun is almost touching the receiver where as NVGs there is a consideral gap on the off ejection port side .his appears that the tip of the carrier is pointing left of center of the mag tube where mine is some what right of center.

I wouldn't be polishing anything yet. Your gun shot fine for the first few hundred and then got dirty.
First make sure the gas ports are clear in the barrel.
Second, take off the gas piston and blow it inside and out with brake cleaner real good, then a very light oil on it and the tube.
This will be regular maintenance.

I see it also rembolt but so far I have found seven different part numbers for the front carrier stalker and nvg different, 3" and 3 1/2 different etc. No idea why however could be coatings but if I look at the top U shape in yours it is a totally different animal dimensionally also in that location so maybe different width also.
Yes it is and the shell also looks to set deep into my carries as I cycle a dummy round compared to the pics NVG has posted of the shell sitting on his carrier . NVGs gun is new and should be looked at by a browning qualified smith . but can't help thinking that if the carrier were tweeked a little so it pointed the shell more to inside of the receiver the problem wouldn't exesist.
FOR SURE Well I missed that brand new with warranty part somewhere in the 9 pages. I see I picked it up??
I would not grind anything and after making sure it is as clean as I can make it would be going right back to browning if it screwed up again. I have had weak springs on new guns however also but with warranty that is their problem.
I assumed there was no warranty.
Yeah its only 3 weeks old, 1000 rounds, kept very clean. i think were starting to go around in circles now lol.
I will be taking it in tomorrow morning and see what the smith says. i havent taken it in yet because its my only gun at the moment and didnt want to possibly wait a month to get it back.

The piston, blow it out inside and out, blow the holes out with brake cleaner, scrub it with a toothbrush, let it soak in brake cleaner. You should be able to blow out all kinds or crud, crazy amount of gun powder will build up in there.

In your picture you can see that right side of the carrier is much longer than the left side...that will cause the shell to "point" out towards the ejection port. Rembolt's has a slightly longer right side carrier tip length as well but nowhere near that much difference. It's interesting to note that on the Gold & Silver shotguns both sides of the carrier are of equal length
As for the barrel gas ports...1000rds isn't enough for them to be dirty or partially clogged. I ran over 12 000 rounds thru my Gold 3.5 before the gas ports became an issue and needed cleaning...although I don't recommend waiting that long to clean them out! I was just curious to see how many shots down the tube it would take before plastic and carbon build-up became a problem. LOL! I clean them out every 5000rds on my Gold Sporting guns.
If your gun is still under warranty then it would indeed be best to send it off to be looked at.
yeah i was wondering about the length but the shell doesnt really touch it at the point initially. And yeah im pretty sure i have ruled out the gas system and its something in the lifting process. It happens every now and again when "speed loading" so that would rule out gas all together. turns out my shop is closed tomorrow so i have to wait till tuesday.
its at Reliable Gun in Vancouver, Brownings BC warranty place. If they cant figure it out then it goes back to Browning in Quebec. I will let you guys know what happens. Now im just sitting on my hands with no guns might have to go pick up a POS till i get this one back.

I hope this is a rare occurance. I've used Rembolts Maxus in the past. It functions perfectly no matter what load..and I absolutely love it !!

Maybe yours was built late friday or early monday....
orrrrr.....someone dropped the trigger group during assembly, and stuck it in there without checking it anyways ?

Bummer that your Maxus is not cycling. I bought one several weeks ago to replace my Supernova and laughed as the first several rounds I put through it refused to eject. I ceel gour pain after dropping $1300 on your first semi only to have it jam! They were 7/8 oz Winchester speed target loads and fortunately the problem went away after those shells were gone. I put 1 oz Winchester Supers as well as 1 1/8 Federal target loads in and both were fine. Gun is only rated for 1 oz minimum so made sense to me. Yours appears to be a different matter but I don't think the different length on the sides of the carrier is the issue as mine is the same and it is clearly an intentional design. Even reputable companies produce lemons from time to time.
It might be a little late since it looks like your browning has gone to the service centre but I had a look at my Maxus and it looks like your barrel extends further back into the action than mine does. Here is a pic of mine:
