New 12G under-barrel shotgun - coming soon

If you guys had any idea how business worked you wouldn't act like whiny little pricks.

Marstar and ALL of the other retailers in Canada have been absolutely #### kicked by the government, the falling dollar and now you think that because you sit at a keyboard and are the coolest mall ninja around whatever podunk village you live in that you get to trash a company who has undoubtedly spend some of their cash trying to developed ANYTHING legal for our diminished market ?

In the words Mr. Tyson :
"Social media has made people way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it"
How are you this mad about people not being happy a product isn’t coming when they were told it was?

Because there is a small, select few people on this forum that #####, whine and complain about everything and it's just tedious.

They have ZERO idea about running a small business and yet effusively spout off on the subjects as though they are somehow expert in the matter.

I can only imagine the process of trying to design something cool and original like this launcher, within the ever changing firearms regulatory framework in Canada, that runs perfectly in a combat situation (because closet Navy SEALS like the cat lady here would settle for nothing less) is chrome lined has a lifetime warranty and comes in at under $500 Canadian Pesos with free shipping.

I have watched many companies fold over the years in the struggle to just stay afloat but then to have the folks you are trying to please and support just constantly crap all over you at every turn is painful.

Who cares MORE that this didn't work out ? You or the company that undoubtedly spent THOUSANDS on the R&D that will now need to write it off ?!

Maybe we should SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE instead of ##### and moan and 'woe is me' I'm sooo hard done by !

Bunch of Beta whiners.

lol maybe a company shouldn’t be ran like trash and post for hype before something isn’t going to work.

At that point, they deserve what happens.

How ironic. It is the homophobic, racist troll. That has to let everybody know they made his naughty list, like we give a rats arse, you aint that important. Remind me of the old people here that makes a scene at the grocery store, because there is a small line up. Guess what, nobody cares. Merry Christmas..

Hello,

This is Ares Arsenal.
We would like to answer some questions about our product Behemoth and plans for it in Canada.

Behemoth (https://ares-arsenal.com/firearms-behemoth) is a 12 Ga single-shot break-action accessory firearm for mounting on handguards of rifles, carbines. It features 5.25” barrel, open/charge lever, cross-bar safety, pull-type trigger, extractor, muzzle thread for muzzle devices, Picatinny rail interface with recoil pads on top of the receiver.

We were planning to bring the first batch around 2024-2025 New Year, but that didn’t happen. We simply could not find a Canadian distributor, willing to take a risk and preorder a batch of a viable volume, as we work on preorder scheme. Keep in mind that we are a young company without a long history of success with a new product that also has no sales record… so, the first batch went to a foreign customer.

Now we began communicating with MARSTAR again and we are sure that it will work this time. What to expect:
- delivery in 6 – 8 months,
- MSRP approximately 800 CAD,
- manufactured in Turkey under our quality control,
- 2-3/4” chamber instead of 3-1/2",
- CIP (or SAAMI – depends on request) tested.

Q/A:
1. Barrel length. It can be made longer, but longer barrel will not allow to open the breach wide enough to reload.

2. Price may look too high for a single-shot firearm. Behemoth’s small size and weight are attributed to unique design, that made it possible to fit the action into a volume of about one cubic inch. If we used components from existing shotguns, Behemoth would not have been as small as it is. The price will reduce with increased production volume.

3. Reduced chamber length. We decided to reduce the chamber from 3-1/2” to 2-3/4” because we got enough emails about desire to test it with maximum 3-1/2” loads just for fun. We, however viewed long chamber as survival feature, when one should be able to use any ammunition available in a life-and-death situation. Behemoth was designed to use any ammunition, but the handguards of rifles and carbines are not and can be damaged by the recoil. Even most “military grade” AR-15 handguards for 40mm grenade launchers, because 40mm ammunition has special casing with 2 chambers to make a kick softer but longer. 12 Ga Magnum ammunition in the super light (only 0.7kg) Behemoth requires stronger handguard than 40mm grenade launcher!

4. Performance. From our experience, 2-3/4” and 1-3/4” ammunition is optimal. 3” and 3-1/2” give tremendous increase in recoil for marginal increase in performance due to the short barrel. Reloading time under 3 seconds is easy to achieve with minimal practice.
Effective distance depends on the type of ammunition. Performance data:
- Shot. The best results are demonstrated by high density (lead and heavier) shot (#2, #3, #4; 2-3/4”; 1Oz load) in containers: ~1.2m spread at 25m distance. Without containers effective range reduces to ~10m or less.
- Slugs. 20 – 30cm spread at 25m distance. Initial velocity for 2-3/4”, 1Oz load is >200m/s
- Specialized anti-UAV ammunition (net) gives the best effective range against UAVs.

A question from Ares Arsenal to the future owners of Behemoth firearms.

What would you choose?:

1. Behemoth with steel receiver, as the original design.
2. Behemoth with receiver made from high grade aluminum.

Aluminum receiver:
- reduces the overall weight from 0.7kg to 0.5kg.
- MSRP is also to reduce slightly.
- better corrosion resistance.
- not as durable as steel.

Behemoth has FRT #198589-1 with non-restricted classification.
Very cool. Thanks!

Steel all the way. Weight reduction is about the least important thing to me, while durability is very important.
