Norinco NS522 build: NEW MAG RELEASE

Thanks for re-contributing some photos Father, as I get into my mods I will post some of my work as well. I got a great deal on a nice drill press so all I need is a decent vice and some Devcon to get rolling. Oh yeah, and some precious time. Can you post a pic or two of the floor plate bedding and the pillars? Cheers!

Done and done.

I actually thought I had, but clearly I had not, so thanks for asking.

My pillars are nearly completely covered by the bedding material, so hard to see. You can see them from the top, but just.

Hi folks, just a quick question, I have 3 522's and will be selling one on the EE, can you tell me what are they going for these days, it is new in box! Thanks for your help! Cheers Bob

In the grease with 2 mags $400 to $450 seems to be the going rate.
Thankyou very much, that helps, so say $450 shipped would be a good start! I don't want to go overboard but want to be fair to both parties!
I will put it on later today, thanks again! I still have 2, just need to move a few firearms out, so doubles and triples gotta go!

Found some time do do a little more on the NS mods today. I already posted the Anschutz trigger install and now I have converted mine to use CZ 452/455 mags.Feeds smooth as silk. This setup is going into an older single shot Anschutz target stock that I have modified. I haven't had a chance to see what would be needed to put this mag setup into the NS chassis yet but will once I am done this project. The only things I had to do to install the mag well were drill a 4MM hole and tap for the front screw and file a little material at the front of the mag housing(visible in photo) for it to sit flat on the receiver. It just clears the front bolt. The original NS mag block inside the receiver was used and the CZ mag fits inside it perfectly and also aids in keeping everything in line. Both screws are 4MM. Still have bedding and stock refinish to do as well...

Thanks guys, just having a blast working on this thing.
The Anschutz trigger was originally done by Don Stith, I just followed what info I could find and did the install. Wasn't all that hard. Trigger is lighter than my MPR's. I figured out the CZ mag only because I was lucky enough to have the parts in front of me to play with. The mag housing and mag and 2-4mmx12mm screws are all that were needed to attach the mag to the receiver.
I just took a quick look at the factory stock and trigger guard and the CZ mag lines up fine with the opening. the trigger guard will need to be opened up at the front a bit but the mag release is way short of being reachable.A small amount of wood needs to be cleared as well. Does anyone know if there is a longer mag release available for the CZ's ? Other than that I think it is doable

I haven't followed everything is this massive thread, but I was just wondering if anyone knows of a dovetail mount with some elevation correction built in, like a 20 moa mount for centerfield rifles. A dovetail to Picatinny or Weaver 20 moa adapter would work too. I've searched a few times for something like this, but I havent had any luck yet.

I thought I would post some photos of the pillar and epoxy bedding I did on my receiver and trigger guard/floor plate, and opening up the barrel channel. After doing this work I mounted a Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn 4-12x40 AO scope. I had one on a .22 Hornet years ago, and it was bright and clear with a fine duplex. I thought it would be a good cost conscious choice here. I still have testing to do, try a bunch of different ammo and hopefully find a hollow point that groups well. Cheers.

Update: I have both, the NS522 and the scorpio em322 . after having them both torn down I have found this:
bolts can be interchanged
the scorpio and norc mags are interchangeable
the 522 fits into the scorpio stock.with clearancing for the larger barrel.
