If it wasn't for your picture i would have overlooked this one. Looks like a good optic.

Never owned a red dot sight so i guess this one will be my first.

The height and price are right, no idea how it will stand up, yet. I couldn't get the camera in the same place as my eye, but with the sights at the 300m setting it gives about a lower 1/3 co-witness and the irons are just usable at the 100m setting.

I have a Strikefire on mine. I bought the one meant for the AR platform and the provided rings were too high for my liking, so I replaced them with something lower. I'm pretty happy with it considering its my first red dot. Shooting with both eyes open is easy and its pretty accurate although I wish it had a smaller dot. I routinely shoot out to a hundred yards and hit my targets. A good buy.

Here's a couple pics of the new NEA rail version. Note the set screw at the gas block and another one at the sight base end, accessible through the hole above the pin hole. I understand the rear pin is also slightly larger. These changes should allow for a snug fit, regardless of individual rifle dimension variations.

That rail looks superb.

Rouhhneck12: Do you have the Strikefire on this rail? Are you able to see the irons through the glass with it mounted?

~Cheers

Got my replacement NEA rail in this morning...

Initial impressions;

- Much better finish. More of a matte "parkerized" type finish.
- Cross bolt it much nicer, It's knurled and black.. not smooth and brass.
- The set screw at the front snugs things up real nice.
- ...this thing fits TIGHT.
- and most importantly... my T1 with LaRue fits snug. It also fits with the T1 v1. mount.

The same pre-firing testing was done as with the previous version... ;

I attached my Leupold scout scope to the rail & zeroed with a collimator. I then removed & reattached the mount 6 times, checking zero each time. Each time, it returned to zero. I then took it out back and put 100 rounds under it, removing and replacing the mount after 10rnds, 30rnds, 60rnds ; rapid fire. The scope returned to zero each time.

I didn't have time to test my T1 under fire, but have mounted it. If it'll hold zero with the scope, it'll be good with the dot.

I'd still like to put more rounds under this mount, but I'd say that NEA has a winner with this version.

The only downside so far is that I spent my first 10 mins looking for the pin retaining "bb" when the set screw came out while I was installing it. Like any setscrew, make sure you locktight it before use. And this thing needs a maple leaf engraved into it somewhere. ;)

...I said before that I really wanted to like this mount and didn't. I can say that I do now and my only real gripe is that I'm going to have to find a way to work it into my new quad-rail.

Good job guys.

Here's a couple pics. Excuse the fakepoint T1.. my primary is up on my Classic Green for a upcoming shoot. The dimensions are accurate. This one I had on my M1A and it's what got me the T1 bug. But it's still not the same...

As you can see it sits pretty low and allows a good cowitness. (Sorry for the dark pic, I just upgraded my OS and haven't got any editors in here yet).

This rifle has been used and abused in every manner possible, had every mod that pops into my head done to it (just made up a ambi selector tonight), and it gets better and better. It's just about perfect, and tailored to my needs. It fits like a glove, and it's always been missing a low enough mount to properly mount my T1's. ..I can almost see the end of the road now. ;)
