***OFFICIAL*** FAMAE SG 542 SEMI-AUTO .308 is NON-RESTRICTED **ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS**

I shouldn't have to do the leg work to find out why a business has not come through on delivering a $3,000 item they promised on such and such a date. That's the responsibility of the business. So when that doesn't happen it is a legitimate criticism of the company because they don't have their #### together like a well run company would. If you bought a mattress or a couch from a store and they said they were going to deliver it on a specific day, but instead they just never do and never call you then you have a right to be pissed off with their service, regardless if the ####ing couch is caught up in the Bangladeshi customs office.
I'm not asking for much here.

And I'm pretty sure the nitriding was a change in production technique and not some 'extra' that TI got us for our troubles....if we wait long enough they may cease production and we'll get an old Chilean Mauser instead. As an 'extra'!

TI is at the mercy of both FAMAE and the Chilean government.
Yes, the post mentioned "events out of TI's control."

He started the ball rolling getting FAMAE to sell to Canadians. Directly to the Canadian public that is.
Good you are getting close to the point of the post.

No small thing to get FAMAE, a government manufacturer to change their policies.
And I thought it was due to the mighty dollar.

He also publicly announced his future intention to get more things in.
It is easy to announce one's intention. Backing it up is another matter.

I remember pre-ordering an SAF when everyone else said it could never happen.
Despite not going perfeclty, he is still working away.
TI agrees with you.
Yes, things are out of hand.

As I have said, very much at the mercy of both FAMAE and the Chilean government.

Now I don't know how big a set up TI is and how much their financing and pull is in comparison to other competitors,,,
,,,but,,,
TI has in no way gone on a negative rampage against anyone else or pointed fingers and screamed accusations either.
He has remained positive and gotten on with trying to get this thing through.

Am I frustrated?
Absolutely, I dream nightly of having my own 540.
But I can also understand the paperwork nightmare that he endures and how much he is at the mercy of others over this too.
I can cut him some slack and save my beer bottle returns as I tap my foot in the mean time.
:HR:

Ok I think I get the gist of what you are trying to say. Do you believe deleting a post critical of one's actions as "remained positive"?
Lastly, the purpose of the post was to raise the question of "Did TI get out-maneuvered by the competition to the point that they were stuck being last in line?"

I am truly not interested in becoming involved in competing businesses starting a public p***ing contest.
If anything it tends to drive my business away from them.

When I am curious, I email and ask. TI gets back to me and has been pretty open about delays and problems.
I knew from my SAF experience that this would be a long term project.
That is ok to me. When I buy a fire arm, I tend to keep it for years if not for good.

There is always the new stand by the grocery checkout for inquiring minds,,, but I think it best not to air it out here even if we do find out.
That's what lawyers are for.

No chance the rifles will be in our hands in the next few days. Expect to hear they won't be available in October some time in... November...maybe.

Sorry guys, there was an accident in one of the heat treatment machines. Delivery got pushed back 30 days to account for the repair of the fire damage on the machine :(

Thanks for the update TI. Any information is better then nothing at this point, however that was not the photo update I was hoping to see. Hopefully our mfr run wasn't in there when she blew.

Isn't there supposed to be fire in the heat treatment machine? :p

At this point I am just shaking my head. I will give TI props for at least posting some information about why there is yet another delay. I'm not feeling any better about this, however.

a flood setting back the ETA on the skorpion and a fire setting back the ETA on the famae... what next earthquake? tornado? meteor strike? perhaps an alien invasion?...
WTFf:P:
