AA rockets? Entirely unguided? Quite the shotgun approach, no?

basically, but remember that large AA guns (the 88) were fired the same way, but with more guns needed for the instant rate of fire. the batteries would fire in the are that the large formation of bombers would be when the projectile got to altitude and hope for the best, its not like they were firing an 88, or 3" or what have you at a specific plane, they were hoping to make enough flying debris to bring down as many planes as possible

the russians also had rifle shoot at low flying aircraft the same way, aim somewhere in front of the plane and shoot, if you get 30 guys doing it at once, a few connect. they were even successful at bringing them down on rae occassions

The photo is cited as being staged, although a well known photo of long standing. Where did you get they were Indian troops?

Irish army used German style Helmets produced by Vickers Post WW1, so probably taken in Ireland and not in the UK.

"Weel, y'see Jimmy, we got an awful good deal on them helmets, as the previous owners were no longer wantin' them. And w'thought it would spite the English some to see us wearin' 'em 'n all! "
