Remington ACR

I'm not sure if Remington changed it but the original design used modified AR-15 barrels with the trunition to fit with their quick change system.

The price is supposed to similar to other generation 3 rifle/carbines.

Apparently the ACR is supposed to have an MSRP or $2040 and be launched the 3rd or 4th in May of 2010

Once the BS settles, that should translate to a street price of $1700 - $1800, which isnt bad at all

Start saving those pennies. If this info holds true, it's only 6 months till gameday

Given this is similar to the street price of the XCR ($1600) + $100-200 USD. It looks like it would be slightly higher than the cost of XCR here in Canada. So maybe $2500 CAN?

However this could increase depending on how much hassle it would be to get them over the border plus whether there is any stock destined outside of the U.S. initially. Canada isn't a very large market compared to the U.S.

At least it would be cheaper than a SCAR...

It should cost less.
Remington has a complete import and distribution network setup in Canada. They should not have to incur as many of these 'costs' that Wolverine has to import the XCR themselves.

These R models from Remingtion are evil black rifles...they have all the same paperwork and export restrictions (and all those Hoops).... Yet.. look at the price.. I don't see a $800 mark-up
The R-25 is $1567 USD MSRP. You can buy it for $1445 CDN here.
Thr R-15 is $1225......$1150 CDN

So if the ACR is $1600.....You get the Idea.

Don't start giving Distributors permission to rape us in advance. This Rifle should be Sub $1800 CDN IF it is $1600 USD

I want to live in your fantasy world. Gravel has to go through exactly the same hoops as Wolverine.

The other question would be, if the gun gets here, and (hopefully) without the pricing too inflated, what would a Canadian one look like? Will we be stuck with non-collapsible stocks, no flash hider, etc, etc?
I'll wait to see.

Non-collapsible stocks and no flash hider would suck some serious balls. Hopefully, if and when it comes to Canada, it won't vary or be neutered terribly before getting here.

That said, I'm very excited that it may soon see the light of day in civilian sales (for the gun world).

Like anything made in the US - the first two runs will guarantee to suck and be full of bugs!

I will sit back and wait til 2011.........

I hope there is no pinning of the collapible stock, but I really dont care if it comes without a FH.
In fact, I think a FH is a waste of 2 inches. It does not count towards barrel length under Can. law.
Lose it and go for 18.5+" of barrel, no FH

Different things for different people. I do all of my shooting at the range, so I prefer the gun as original and "Tacti-cool" as possible. It's like the XCR, the only reasons I've never bought one is because for my interests, the Canadian-ized version has no appeal whatsoever. Same with the VZ's: I own 2, both restricted.
Again, different things for different people. We'll need to see what the US State Dept deems us worthy to possess.

Don't overlook that fact that the Remington "R" rifles are not considered Black by the US State dept. and don't have the same export restrictions/hoops that a rifle with a flash hider and a folding stock will have...

Fair enough, although for me, living out west, I want a gun that I can take with me up a logging road. That means Non-R
