if you witness war, your country disintegration, then you would understand, otherwise-sure, prepare for emergency and not big SHTF.. but let me tell you not all big wars will happen "somewhere/ elsewhere" one day it will happen on the grounds of N. America.. believe it or not
If what you say is true and "big war" comes to Canada, then the things you dislike about the 10/22 will be the least of your problems. In "big war" it simply won't matter. There are many videos from the sandbox that show some remote farmhouse where a dozen guys are holed-up with AK's and it appears to be a well-fortified compound. Nice bug-out location. Then wooosh....BOOM! Laser-guided bomb. All dead.
In the next video they're camped out in fields or woods at night, and you can see their thermal signatures through the helicopter's FLIR imaging... I'm sure they have competent SHTF rifles. Then tat-tat-tat-tat-tat. All dead, body parts a'flying. The plastic trigger guard fades into irrelevancy when up against a 30mm chain gun -- even if one cheated and used their Butler Creek with all 25 rounds of CCI minimag....![]()
I can't believe the time I wasted reading it.

I stopped buying ruger over the idiotic warranty center in Canada and poor QC.
Pretty sure this is master level trolling. If not, the cheese has slid way off his cracker.
There was a good build up but it spiralled out of control way too fast for master level trolling. I'm thinking brain damage.
Disagree... Snapshots has been excellent to deal with.
QC is an issue on the lowend guns, not so much the others. But, the other companies are cheaping out just as much on lowend stuff... it is a shame to be on the sidelines watching the "race to the bottom."

Those who have courage to tell that rimfire design is different from centre fire... man oh man, why then there is sks like .22 Baikal and swap upper in .22 for Glock or Sig... seriously striker arriving a bit off centre and to the centre that is the basic principle used in 12g to .22 inserts and many others of such kind just mentioned above... crapuger decided to go alternative way, the typical and predominant now, unfortunately, in modern N. American engineering BAD+expensive+complex. The other people were telling me that Canadian firearm manufacturing is advanced... sure it is so advanced that prices are 3000+ for precision rifles... sure they cost it and those engineers are may be very good... but what about affordable + reliable+ mechanically sound + mechanically logical and serviceable? Hello....? Silence....
3 guns to replace 1. 1 had a scope mount drilled crooked, second the front sight was crooked, and rear sight busted. Second gun shouldn't even been sent to me in the first place. Because they knew it was crooked, and tried to fix it good enough. All the cost of shipping. Even lower end guns, you shouldn't be sending out with crooked anything.
