Russian SKS45 long thread.

It's arriving in 10 days they said. Finally this old old thread can die a peaceful death.:bsFlag::bangHead::bsFlag::weird: They told me there was only 200 and that is all they are going to get. They have 700 on the waiting list so only the first 200 gets guns.
Only 200, well that sux. Thanks for the info, I guess if I don't receive a phone call, I'm SOL.

Just got off the phone with SIR and was informed that my order for the SKS is being filled today.

1945 - Tula in original and new condition as far as he could tell (not a refurbished). The gun has been assigned to me with serial number being transmitted to CFC.

The price is $199 + tax + shipping

He has only 200 of them in stock and has a list of at least 700 potential buyers.

The wait was worth it.

PS. SIR is calling the potential buyers until all the 200 of them are sold

By rooting around in this thread I see that gandalfe ordered from SIR on March 3/08. The next post after his, post #142 by Maplesugar says he was order number 213.

200 rifles and with cancelations and such, I’m guessing if an order wasn’t placed by about the middle of March, you might be SOL.
I placed my order April 1, probably no SKS from SIR for me.
Story of my life :D:D

Hell I'd give my left nut for a 1945 unissued especially since they didn't go into production until 1949:confused:

I think the kind lady at Cabela was just plain confused, and mistaken a SKS45 model, for a 1945 year gun.She said that is why the price went up, because thay are an older, more collectable SKS.I just wanted a cheap Ruskie Shooter,:sniper: not something to put away in my safe.

Order placed for a Chinese SKS in June '07.

Phone call today for a Russian 'unissued' (we'll see).

Either way...

SWEET!

Well, I am one of the lucky 200. I just completed my order with Cabela's. The rifles were going to be $239, but because of the long wait, they dropped the price by $40. So, tax and shipping to my door, I am looking at $235. That beats the inflated prices on the EE! I was going to cancel, but I think I will hold on to it now....:D

She told me I was the first to get a rifle, so she was counting backwards from 200.I was number 200.She asked if I would take a 1945.I didn't want to refuse for fear of not getting a gun.She said it was a real beauty, so I said yeah.:bigHug:

Wow! this is even better, we might have a bunch of pre-production prototypes :p

Enough dreaming - I'm embarrassed to mention that I used to collect these and should have known the date of the start of production at the Tula Arsenal. Putting kidding aside, I believe that the SKS market will definitely be a buyer's market for a number of years. I'm giving up on my small collection and turning to something else.
