First off I was told today that they just opened applications for May 18th on Friday. So do your math from there, mine was received June 7th so i have 2 more weeks before they even open it.
The reason I called them was they've really pooched the website up. Now to check the status you need to create an account online first just to check the status of your application which may or may not even be available online! WTF?
The first step was to create an account. I got several errors on the password I was using even though it met all of their requirements, tried a new password, still errors, tried a third password and finally got in. (funny thing is that I was pissed off at this point so "fu#k" was part of my password and it worked).
Second step was to register services for individuals. Asks for your name, email address, place of birth etc and says use 00000000 as your license number if this is for a new license. I entered everything into all the boxes and another error! "Your personal information is incorrect". I double and triple checked all of the information I typed and even tried all lowercase/uppercase for first letter of names etc and still couldnt get it to accept the information.
I called and spoke with someone who "handles website issues" and spent 10 minutes listening to her say "the easiest way is to use google and then click on RCMP" etc. She didnt know how to type a website name into a freaking browser address bar!!! LOL I politely told her I'd call back in a couple of weeks. For anyone who does call back and try to get help logging in, it sounds like the only supported browser is Ineternet Explorer but I have no idea if that was the issue. I tried Firefox and IE9 and got the same error. She mentioned "Chrome would not work" and told me "Firefox is going to be a problem" so who the hell knows?
Anyways, I'm just going to wait another week and call again to see if my app has been opened. The woman told me not to get frustrated as there is a 28 day waiting period anyways. I politley told her my waiting period is already over and you've yet to open my envelope.
Good luck everyone, hope you have more success than I did with them.
