actually, if you violate the paper, and reach in there and pull something out then the rest comes out easy- i've also noticed that the chinese ones sometimes have the combo tool/oiler and the rod sections reversed- it's supposed to go combo tool, ratchet brush and oiler in the top compartment- then cleaning rod sections, , bore brush in nylon keeper , jag in in the baggie in the lower section. however, in some of the chinese stocks, they drilled the hole too shallow and you can't fit the contents of the upper hole in there- ie you have to either leave out the oiler or the ratchet brush[; in the baggie in the lower, you're supposed to place the 4 standard sections in the bag, then put the bore brush in its protector( that's the nylon tube that goes over the brush) and put the jag on top or below that so you actually make 5 columns- then you can put the whole thig into the LOWER compartment, and leave the tongue of the baggie in the top of the hole, then close the door- i have yet to see one of these doors that doesn't need an assist of some kind to open it- tip of the bayonet, bullet end, etc- in the field, we never bothered , and just carried a spare on the belt or in your pack somewhere- if you're hunting with this thing, there are 2 schools of thought- 1) evacuate everything so it makes no noise,or 2) wrap some patches around things that rattle-( the pin in the combo tool for instance) and shake it good so you can hear what's going to give you away
