For you Ruger 1 guys if you were to buy just one of them what chambering would it be?

The first time I decided to limit myself to a single #1, I sold the other 4 or 5 I owned and kept a .45-70.

A few years later, when I decided for the second time that I would absolutely have only one specimen of the #1, I kept a 9.3x74r and sold off several others that had mysteriously appeared since the previous purge.

Finally, on the most recent occasion upon which I resolved to have but one, I sold off all my other #1's and kept only a .300H&H.

That one is now gone...and I sold another, a .450-400 recently...but I somehow still have three #1's in the safe.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here...

LOL. Sounds familiar!
Started with a 220 Swift followed by a 30-06 followed by a 375 H&H.
They went to be replaced with a 22-250 and a 270 RSI and a 45-70
Those went years ago and yet there is still 6 others in the safe today.
Reverted back to the Swift and the 06 and the 45-70 after having deep regret in parting with the first ones.
Added a couple 7x57's and 9.3x74R.
Sounds like you're doing everything just right!

My current go to in .257 Bob, if it keeps behaving in the accuracy dept, it will be my last. No#1 that is lol.......

New to the site, and first time posting! Wow what a thread!! Always been a fan of the no1!! I own a 30-06 RSI that is my go too rifle for moose hunting, use to own a no1 in 338wm but sold it when I moved to the Yukon 24 years ago.... a mistake was made...
I just bought a used one in 9.3x62 and should have it late next week or the following week! I wish I knew how to post pictures!
I have a few questions, I saw in a few pictures that some of you have offsets rear scope rings, also saw a set of what look like express rear sights and I’ve seen a peep sight to on one picture, I would love to have links to those items to outfit my no1’s .
Thank you
