So why are none of us Hunters talking about the 30 x 30 Intiative?

Kind of shocked people are accusing you of being a lefty Ardent, all this neo liberal bootstraps talk reads very conservative to me. Jobs at McDonalds and 7/11 don't allow for long excursions and we are not all dealt the same lot in life; all I'm saying.

Anyways let's make up and go for a plane ride, meet me in Nimpo when it's Salmon season :dancingbanana:

I agree that month aside; Canadians should be out there appreciating our very easily accessible wilderness. Especially in the West, there isn't a major city that isn't ringed by parks etc. Even some in town for those who can't afford vehicles who's bootstraps are pulled as high as they go.

Only those in a rush to fit you in a box that’s convenient and affirming of their narrative think I’m a lefty, for being able to respect people (and politicians) despite opposing views. Some people’s depth of understanding and deductive reasoning is an image or line of text deep, that’s telling on the rest of their views.

I don’t fit in a convenient box, that’s troublesome for those who really need to push you into one and believe they understand you. I’m fiscally and firearms conservative, socially I believe in a truly free country which means freedom goes both right and left, I stay out of your gun cabinet and bedroom. That incorporates thinking from both sides of the spectrum. Environmentally I’m very concerned, as anyone who observes and lives for the outdoors ought to be, as the environmental collapse is real, I’ve seen it on several continents. I don’t tow the party line of hunting every predator and mature male in BC relentlessly helps ecosystems, or that we can manage wilderness better than wildlife, and I do see blame for ourselves in most of the problems. While I do believe hunters can save habitat in places like Africa, and when well managed hunting has its place in preserving and sharing the outdoors here.

In other words everything is a spectrum, and if I ever believe one solution fits my beliefs I’ll know I’ve lost my way. It is absolutely asinine so many here are jumping on the bandwagon of adopting an entire political platform that if they looked at it objectively is not in their own interests. That’s the brilliance of Trumpian era populism, getting people to vote and rally against their own benefit on soundbites of information while feeling highly informed. Protecting wilderness isn’t something nice to do, it’s the future of this blue dot hurtling through infinity, more people need to go outdoors and look at the stars. What they worry about doesn’t even ####ing register, but there are things to worry about, it’s just not identity politics.

As for going flying while I get the jest in the comment, selfishly that fleeting time is for my kids and a few close friends, but I never say never the world’s complicated. There’s a few forum members I’ve flown and boated to the middle of nowhere with, they know who they and we don’t agree on everything. But they are damn good people who have one thing in common, good hearts and a love of the outdoors.

I consider this a good sign that you can’t seem to let it go, you made it 4 days though, hopefully that means you’re at least asking yourself the question ‘how could I get this wrong? I’m too smart, too moral…etc. etc.’ So right on, that’s what this is all about.

You’ll come to find, like many are refusing to acknowledge from the past 3 years, is that pretty much everything you just said will come back to haunt you as one of the best gaslights of your life. And yet you have no clue why, and no clue how it could be possible.

So…I’ve tried to ‘tell you’ how all this works but you simply have to be ‘shown’. Telling doesn’t work. That’s what the last few years have been about. People are being shown and people are waking up. Rapid fire hot button topics, initiatives, and so much more. We don’t all wake up at the same time, it’s a scale, some are simply just going to wake up at the last of moments and must be shown an ever increasingly bizarre and challenging 'show' in order to apply that significant emotional response required to break the spell held over them, and some will refuse the truth even until they die (5%). It’s very powerful…this game. So you will continue to be ‘shown’ what’s really going on but at least you're thinking about things and trying to rationalize out how you’re correct despite all the evidence crashing down around you the past few years and ‘showing’ you that you’re not.

Yes you’re good and mean well but you are manipulated. This is no longer the place to waste your time. Keep going with that energy but look within now. Taking in the show. Take everything you can from this thread and keep asking questions, connecting dots, and look at what you’re being shown with fresh eyes. You’ll put it together but it will be the hardest thing you ever do in your life, that’s a promise. Sounds like you’re up for it though.

Heard a little quote recently and part of it just stuck, pretty sure it was for you.

'Your boast becomes a prophecy of a future failure. The higher you lift yourself up in pride, the harder you'll fall in disgrace.'

This is very applicable to the times right now. Remember, one group was correct every step of the way the past 3 years, one was not. Figure it out and try not to dig that hole any deeper...it's almost deep enough to fit an elephant right now.

Trumpian!

I look forward to Global Warming, it'll be the best thing that ever happened. Too bad it isn't real.

Lmao, the weather girl skipped over the snowfall warnings from lake Louise to jasper this morning so fast I nearly missed it. It's Alberta/Canada's 'fire season' right?. Good thing for that 10 second back button, she can really talk fast when she wants lol.

You're confusing Spring fires (Climate Change) with, almost officially, Summer Snow (Local Weather).

Just wait til they tell us June 2023 is the Hottest June on Record (in the upper atmosphere, or middle of the ocean or some other place no one can check). I'm sitting in my house with my coat on drinking coffee right now.

I live an hour west of Jasper...clouds broke last evening for a few mins for the first time in a couple of days only to reveal a fair bit of fresh snow covering the mountains in my front yard!!...it's raining like a bugger right now (has been all night) and it's only about 3 degrees out at 8am....with this much precipitation there will be a #### ton more snow up there before this is over. Single digit lows here for the next week or more as well.
We were done our run off season already due to a couple weeks or more of VERY hot weather....now we will get a second run off and our gardens and fruit trees are fq'ed!

....Global warming my arse!

Are the fires even real? Has anyone actually seen them?

Well.... I can only speak for the ones around edson and the three that popped up in our valley (Robson) here...yup! They're real alright! As real as the water bombers and helicopters that I watched douse them! Hats off to those folks that's for sure!!!

Lol, I almost lit the wood stove last night. At least the cooler temps and rain/snow should help to knock down wildfire activity in the province.

Yes real in AB, thought I saw some vids on some local gp area volunteer crews with lots of experience being denied ability to jump in the game and help? I don't track everything but at this point the game is known so there will be zero surprises either way if that can be confirmed by others, the speaker I saw was very convincing fellow and seemed pretty ticked off they are not allowed to help and was even calling conspiracy so I imagine you won't find that on the 6 o'clock news lol. I digress, would appear they want to keep this thing just contained enough to milk things as long as possible for the agenda. I'm sure we will get around to figuring out how all these fires started in a 4 day span as soon as it got warm enough. Back into the ditch we go, when thinking about this though don't forget about covid. This same story is brought to us by the same people who brought us covid. Very legit right? smh
