Too bad a small rifle like the did not have a small 3,5 shot magazine …it’s a bolt action rifle?…if it did and had calibre change options…22 w r…9mm…10..and others
I’d be in for one …

I feel like that would get complicated cause you would need a different magazine for each cartridge. Which would mean either different mag wells or custom mags. An that could get pricey for development and such.

Maybe in the future they will offer it.

Any sort of addition of a magazine will fundamentally change the firearm - there is no space for a magazine with the current design. The loading port is in front of the grip, but also directly over the front of the trigger guard with no room in front of the trigger guard to fit a magazine. So you'd either have to shift the whole barrel/bolt assembly rearward and change the grip entirely (if you use the grip for the magwell), or you'd have to lengthen the entire thingm shift everything forward a bit, and put the mag infront of the trigger.

I'm not saying they'll definitely NEVER make a magazine-fed version, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

If they can make gravity fed magazines for bolt action airguns. I think they could make one attach to the rail.

2 or 3 rounds is better than 1.

Or a external tube with a loading tray, that places a round on tray, when you eject the round, you can flip the tray, depositing a round.

That's great Marstar, well done!

Has Dark Mountain announced the calibers for the upcoming kits and barrels?
I follow them on I.G., I believe it was just earlier today they said the 9mm conversions will be available in the U.S. in the next couple weeks or so.

They didn't state anything beyond that though, so I can't comment on any other possible chamberings.

I'd likely be in for a 9mm....or better yet a .44mag. :)

Now, a question: does the quick barrel-take-down feature inject a certain amount of inconsistency into the headspacing in this design? I mean, it's a bolt action, seems to have a sufficiently hefty frame, and doesn't need to worry about magazine length...so I am wondering why it isn't offered in .223Rem or 7.62x39 or any other traditional bottle-neck rifle rounds?

How much is 5.7x28mm selling for in Canada and how available is it?
About a buck a round, sold in boxes of 50, at least a handful of dealers had some in stock a few weeks ago when I was looking.

Marstar has some in stock too. Website claims 100 boxes in stock.

Ammo price is why I want a 9mm. 5.7x28 is a cool round, but its not something that has a real use for me. If I lived rural where I might need a handy gun for dealing with coyotes around the house or something to that effect then 5.7x28 would be fantastic, but I don't get to live that reality for another decade or so.

Thanks Suther, I took a quick look on Marstar's site and didn't see any before asking, good to know it's in stock.
It's definitely not a cheap, high volume range or tin can blaster chambered in 5.7x28mm and the multi calibre aspect solves that somewhat.
I'm looking forward to hearing reviews on performance when they arrive!

With a single-round firearm you may not be chewing through ammo fast enough to need to reload quite like with a 9mm semiauto magdumper that can chew through a hundred rounds too easily!

That's the nature of single shot's and revolvers etc, the slower rate of fire and lack of mag dumps will cut down on ammo consumption regardless of the cost of each round.

You be surprise how much ammo you can go thru. When I used to shoot indoor. I had a 22LR barrel for my TC and 2 hours later, I burned thru that brick.

Nice, I’ll be getting .17hmr, .22 mag, and .9 mm. This is going to be a fun utilitarian platform. 5.7x28 is an awesome farm cartridge.
