I called the CFC Techs again today...
Information changes depending on who you talk to so you have to read between the lines. I got a particularly chatty Tech today who said she couldn't comment about the situation but then went ahead and told me what she thought
Here's how it went down:
The lady said that the T97's in the system are now classified as 12.2!!!! Full Auto!!!! WTF???
I'm even more confused. If anything I would think it would be a 12.3. Mine only fires semi auto...???
She said that at present my particular T97 is restricted (based on what is in the system under the registration number) so I can still take it to the range.
When I pressed her further as to why it was under review she said "I can't guess or comment,
but what do you think?"

I didn't answer.
Then she said "what if you could alter them easily"?
I said "well that may be but mine is a semi auto" -
She said "yes but it may be easily converted. That's what the problem is." Now what she meant by this I don't know, all I can do is report what she said.
So she basically told me what she said she wasn't allowed to comment on.
She also hinted that maybe someone was "trying to pull a fast one" and that was what alerted them....????

What did she mean by that???
This is very frustrating as I have gotten different responses by every person I have talked to at the registry and the CFC.
I would think the Registry has to sh!t or get off the pot soon regarding the Type 97. Pressure has to be mounting.
I don't like that they may be casting aspersions against the dealers.

I don't like that they may consider this rifle a 12.2.
