I had a m77 scout great little gun qish it was a bit lighter then it is. Man I wish ruger make a light 20" barrel with iron sights in ss.

how do you make mdt mag works (for a 308)?

mine is a dark laminate with the long barrel.

For the MDT mags, I took about 1/16" off the back, about 1/16" down. The pic is a .223 mag, couldn't lay hands right on a .308, but the same modification was needed to fit the GSR. First one that I modified, I took off more than needed, but still functions fine.

Definitely buy one if you find one, I bought mine from a fellow CGNer almost new and absolutely love it!

I had one in .308 years ago and regret selling it. To do it over I think I’d prefer .223/5.56 for good old fashion plinking. I’d also want the 16 barrel whereas I had the 18” with no flash hider / option for a muzzle brake.

Anyone running the XS rail have a suggestion for ring height? I tried a low and medium set of Leupold QRW2s but both still have the scope touching the rail, not sure if I want to make the jump to high - any other brands you'd suggest?

It would depend on what optic you're mounting? I use Warne low for the 2.5x Leupold, but Leupold high QRW2 for a 3.5-10x40 Vx3i, which clears the 40mm front objective

Just got to measure your barrel for the clamp. You also need a flash suppressor (which mine doesn't have) :-(

There has to be somewhere that has some in stock - no? I haven't heard of the Scout becoming hard to find.

I ended up ordering one from Prophet River with no delivery date. Wanted a 308 to go with my walnut 450 bushmaster, left a deposit and now I wait. Not even one for sale on GunBroker in the USA, must be a supply issue with some needed parts, there are no guns available

You’re only bet is on the used market or ordering one from a dealer and playing the waiting game, not even the distributor will say when they’ll be back in stock. There are a couple on ####### and they show up on the EE periodically, put a wtb up on the EE and see what pops up.

Question for anyone that’s installed an xs sight full length rail, is the xs sight’s rear peep aperture the same size as the factory rear peep sight or a different size?

These rifles are very difficult to find in both Canada and the United States, since the new price seems to be about $1750 on Canadian sites, but with non available. I think some one be would be lucky to pick up a used one at these prices!
