Has anyone found any moderately priced Op Rods? My god are they expensive, someone could make a killing selling repros.

110$ I think on Numrich. Not that bad if you order other stuff at the same time.

However, I needed to return bad rods often, which sucks...

When you factor in Shipping, Brokerage + Exchange rates... yeah expensive.

Very nice rifles guys! Mines still just a greasy mess in a bag

Keep on truck'n wbaad. We've all been where you are. Many of us are a year plus into it now. The end game ... is worth all the grief!

My Numrich op rod looked really great but had a battered tab, it got swapped out to buddies parts gun op rod that doesn't look anywhere near as nice finish wise, but is tight and within spec..;)

If it weren't for generous friends helping me, and kickass tec posts from purple et al, ... I'd be in way over my head.

There is a beautifull 95% finished garand across my knees, I haven't had this much gun fun in a dog's age.

Expecting mine back from Nick at Vulcan sometime very soon, hoping by the weekend, or mid month at the latest. Cant wait any longer!!!

So, seeing the receivers on sale has me drooling,
I have the patience, but am wondering what the cost of this whole project will be?

I'm in at $1200 or so to complete with no tools, gunsmithing, or refinishing costs included in that number.
Worth it though to have the pleasure of building your own fine classic rifle, starting off with but the one single part in hand.

First shots will be soon, I'm turning tight circles in anticipation.

Roughly $1600-$1800 depending on whether or not you can snag mostly surplus parts (barrel especially). I built mind in .308 and as such I had the additional cost of a new Criterion barrel factored into the build, as well as the .308 block that sits under the bullet guide. My custom finish stock from fellow member sunajhan also increased my build price, but his fit and finish along with his amazing customer service (really great guy) made it worth every penny.

Hello folks after some deliberation, and a sale, and the subsequent purchase of two Breda stripped receivers, I am joining the ranks of the M1 build thread.

I am not to concerned with the parts numbers and manufacturers numbers matching, however I will document what part goes into which gun as I plan to build a few more in the future.

Got some Videos to watch and some books to read. and some Parkerizing to do ;).

Remi
