What? You don't believe my plate frame that says "my other car is a Ferrari"
You could drive over a Ferrari and not even know it in your truck!

That's not a very good fake. I wouldn't wear that one if I were you. The movement might pass muster, though.
You'd be amazed at the number of people who own a real Rolex but buy and wear a fake Rolex instead because they don't want to damage the real one and the fake is quite acceptable in terms of performance. Owning a real one gives them comfort that they are not a fraud, even if they don't use it.. Same thing here...
Clearly people such as yourself and those who subscribe to such behavior are in need of help. The pathetic attempt at impressing others serves no purpose othwer than to boost your own low self esteem. Seek counselling and save your money.

I am not interested in impressing anyone. The typical Aimpoint owner has it placed on a restricted AR15 clone that they use at a range lilimited to 200m. They probably shoot at paper targets within 50m and put no more than 200 rounds down range a year.
Some people take themselves far too seriously..
Who might I impress???

If you're not trying to impress anyone then why buy a real aimpoint? Why run a look alike for that matter? Run the fake and save the money. Your thought process is flawed.

Well this thread just turn another sharp turn.
I own a real Aimpoint because if the SHTF or if we ever have TEOTWAWKI, I'll be ready with some serious kit... Doesn't everyone?????
Other than that I like to own the best and know I can sell it down the road for as much as I paid for it.
Yup...
Fakes are made for wannabes!!!
I run top end gear because it works and yes, should I need it for more serious work it won't let me down. So why not just run the real one and forget the fake? as for resale you're dreaming if you think you'll recover your costs, the optic is still used and ita history unknown. By your logic you shouldn't sell it anyway so your theory on resale is also flawed.

Run the fake because it functions just as well under normal circumstances (where Most people will use it) without risk of damage to the real one.
As for resell, I've bought and sold plenty of guns and related accessories over the years and have ended up well ahead. Otherwise, I'd never buy any of this stuff. If you buy a lot of stuff for use at a gun range and can only sell at a loss, don't bother...
I have written a few serious optics reviews here but now and purely for fun, I have bought - off our Chinese pals via Ebay - a 100% fake EoTech and equally fake Aimpoint. I am going to use them on my DDM4V7 and see which holds up better. I will review these in due course to let CGN know how they perform in the 'battle of the fakes'. BTW I have used both a real Eotech and Aimpoint and my preference is for the latter.
My god, that's a whole new kind of WTF...
