Type 81 Owners Corner !

It's obvious we have had some bent rifles, but it also seems that this thing has been blown out of proportion. Some of the laser measuring seems a bit OCD.

Those who like their T81, please go shoot and enjoy them. They are sweet guns to shoot.

We are bangers. Go bang bang bang.

The first trigger pull negated the ability to seek refund. I can't blame guys for making sure they have good rifles before committing to having to keep it.

Still waiting for mine to get to my sh!tty little backwater, off the beaten path, community. 8 days and counting to ship from Calgary to Ottawa expedited. Sounds about right.... :bangHead:

If the rifle looks good to go; fire it. Itll never be a bench precision rig. My initial rifle was trash and T.I apologized and sent me a solid replacement. Shooting static and on the move the rifle met my expectations. I often cycle through rifles but this one's a keeper.

I could personally live with the bends mine has but the BHO not working in combination with those things is a no go for me. Plus to top it off TI didn't include my sling :(

Ironheart yours looks fine.

Got all the China grease off it, I must say I'm liking it. Functions and feeding snap caps smoothly, straight, folding stock is square to the reciever and disassembly is pretty slick with the takedown button.

funny thing about all this,, I was in my car about 2 hrs ago reading through this thread about bent barrels.. I came home and looked at my 858's and both barrels are slightly off to the right one more then the other never would have noticed before if I didn't intentionally look,, both of these are great shooters and don't bother me at all. my 3rd is at the local gunshop on consignment so I cant even look at it lol.

Lol, I wasn't actually expecting them to look bent, I thought they had a milled receiver. Must just be the stock.
When measuring your type-81 at least only measure to the back of the receiver, a wood stock could very easily be cut a little crooked, and a Chinese made folding hinge is rarely going to be perfectly straight.

Just got back from the bush.....200 rounds total fired for first time out of 122 grain Steel Core FMJ M43 Military Ball copper washed non corrosive shooting slightly uphill 50 to 60 rounds per target standing...shooting to the left it seems...should I adjust front post? Up? Down? Personally these gun don't seem too accurate with irons...I don't know what more to say.....but it was nice they do function flawlessly! That's about it

Yup, my cover has the same copper marks. Keep shooting! Lol.
An Sks sight tool will adjust your front sight left/right if you need to.
FYI I found the dominion ammo I was shooting to be more accurate in MY t81 than the norc stuff I shot.

That doesn't look bent to me.....are you sure that the sight isn't throwing off the laser....yours looks good to go actually
I assure you nothing is throwing off the laser I am a professional laserometor operator and the bloody rifle is bent the receiver specifically. I struggled to get a picture that shows this its easy to see with the human eye when my dad was lookin it over and handling the rifle he made the same observation without me saying a thing about a bend or curve to it. The images I have shown you can see the bend realy starts about 1/3 of the way down the receiver like the laser is on the edge of the hammer. I just don't know if I want to have a bolt and carrier slamming back and forth in a F#*kin banana shaped receiver also thank you guys for comments I value all of your opinions on the pictures

Definitely gotta get one of these......TI can send me one out of courtesy for the delay and the short mag issue.......I gotta watch some videos on how these work and I will try different ammo as well

Just adjust your front sight to the left a little. Your hitting center mass on a silhouette target, that’s what this rifle was built to do.
