Yes, I know for a fact, there are 3 girls working in the office on transfers. The reason you got one at midnight is because they can only have so many people in the building do to COVID, and some of them are forced to work a night shift as there are less people in the building.
3 in the office at a time? Or literally only 3 employees in total that are now responsible for all transfers?
I just called the retailer I purchased from today . I’ve been Waiting since April 28th and he told me they are processing April 20th ish right now . He also said they have a back log of about 6500 transfers . At this rate I’m lucky if it’s completed in 2 weeks from now . He also said they have 3 people working from home and we all know how government employees work from home lol
10 week delay = 50 business days = 400 work hours X 3 staff = 1200 man hours.
1200/6500 = They’d have to complete one transfer every 12 minutes to clear the backlog in 10 weeks.
But it shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds to process a transfer:
-Punch in seller’s pal (flags if invalid), and up pops a window of all the guns registered to him
-Click on the gun or guns being transferred.
-Punch in the buyer’s pal (flags if invalid).
-Click “Transfer” and the software generates the paperwork and automatically mails it out.
What am I missing here? Isn’t this all that’s involved with a transfer? Are there steps I’m not aware of?
