I noticed that there aren't really any videos on disassembly/reassembly. Would anyone be interested if i make a comprehensive video on how to strip this rifle for maintenance?
Just an update regarding the Taurus Security system.
The CFO has come back to me saying that the locking system does not meet the requirement as a secure locking device.
I honestly don't believe they really looked into it and the safe answer was too say no. I replied with the video showing how easy it is to remove a trigger lock.
I'm pretty sure a judge would agree it's far superior but for folks who wanted the official CFO answer there it is.
So I decided that the 44 mag will be my bush gun and i am on the waiting list. It is not the ideal bush gun, but the portability and weight is just too good. I can't wait.
The more you shoot it and play with it, the more you'll tend to appreciate it's actual practicality. Especially with a few mods to the sighting system and the addition of the right single point sling.
The sling makes a big difference. I tried a few, (plus a few of my own 'rigs') and several just didn't fit right. Many are made for much heavier guns, or larger guns. Some were very close and gave decent results, but I would have had to mod them a little further to be 'just right'. I recently acquired a 'voodoo tactical' single point from Gary at Wanstalls - and although I haven't got to shoot with it yet it just fits perfect.
It's got just the right amount of elasticity and can be sized exactly to what I wanted. When you hold the gun out (stretching the elastic) everything just locks up so that you can actually get a really steady sight picture with it, not radically different than a full sized rifle and certainly better than a pistol. We'll see how it does with new sights on it but I think it'll be a 100 yard gun with a moderate amount of practice if you use the sling.
And of course the sling makes it a very easy carry![]()
