Excellent job explaining things as always Savage
So the odds that the new shipment for Can am are most likely converted full autos?
Ps what does FRT stand for..? thanks
Which I really can not see happening.....? However if that were to happen...it would be better than winning the lotto! (ok..almost)

12(5) is a list of specific guns which does not include the T97, none of which were ever full-auto. If this gun is being prohibited because it was once select-fire, that makes no sense.
12(3) is for guns that were select-fire then permanently modified to semi or single shot.
Something is very wrong with what you've been told, Clobb.
Got off the phone with the CFC a few minutes ago. As of this afternoon my Type 97 shorty - FRT # 129257 is now a 12.5 prohibited firearm.
They are sending me a new registration certificate tomorrow and I would guess a new PAL.
I just got off the phone with another CGN member in the "know" regarding this and SAVAGE's version is correct. This seems to be a cluster F@CK from the start.
Canada Ammo is the one caught in the middle.
Anybody want to by a commemorative Type 97 Picatinny paper weight???
I'm past getting mad about this - I'm going to call the CFC tech tomorrow and have a chat with my MP.
I'm pulling for Canada Ammo - Chris is a good guy who doesn't deserve this.
It should be noted that CanAms post of the list of 12-5 firearms is dated January 1, 1995 (which was fourteen years ago). I am certain the T-97 will probably be on the 2009 version of the list.
But again, I am only commenting on what has already been posted by others.

That is if the govt will update the list with an oic.
The 1995 list is the current list. Adding to it would require an OIC
