Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

Its been a great pleasure to share my experince of it with you!!
The load which i use in my Parker Hale is
CCI Benchrest primers
44 grains of Viht N140 ( or Varget )
Either the 155 A-max or 155 Berger VLD
These loads are giving me a average of 2720fps...........
I have probably mentioned this before but these loads were given to me by my good mate Jamie , there are 5 of us who use this load in our Parker Hale TX1200S / M83 / M84 and they all shoot great;)

We do have nice country like that. We just need to cut down all the trees and plant sheep everywhere to keep it that way. :D

EDIT: and without the trees the bugs will vanish and the beaver, bears, wolves etc.
 
I have thought of trying to get a C3A1 in my hands again. Truth is I can't justify the price. Good stick and it got the job done, but I would only be happy with one of the actual rifles out of CF inventory... Too much money for me.
Someday I would like to send some hot 168's down range out of one again if I ran into one at a range, but I think I'll build a nice 308 bench gun for less dollars.

Hi,

There is a number marked on the bolt handle, can someone tell me what that number is? The thing is, we have 2 C3A1 where I work that are identified with such ''ID number'' on the bolt handle. I'm just curious if that rifle ever was in our hands.

It's the serial number to the receiver - they stay together to maintain correct headspace.

That rifle would have never been in service with the Cdn Army - I know for a fact that his rifle was a .243 M87 - I've talked with him before about it.

Thanks for the input, these rifle don't come around a lot! Lucky me we have two at work, I was wondering if the marking on the bolt was from us or was from factory or cdn forces weapon's techs.
 
Can a Parker-Hale Midlands 2100 action be converted to mag-use? I have proper McMillan stock and now need action and barrel for this project.

Peter I am not sure if your Midland 2100 action is the same as the Mauser 98 action you should be good to go AFIK converting to from a blind magazine to a detachable box magazine should be pretty straight forward if you have all the parts
 
"peterdobson" You need a clip feed Parker Hale action like the 1200C or any variant there of. There's a stud on the bottom for the triggerguard mounting and the feedrails are set up for the detachable mag. Which McMillan stock do you have? Ron
 
"peterdobson" The Midland 2100 needs to be modified by adding the triggerguard/mag sleeve stud and the feedrails reworked to accept the detachable mag. The 2100 uses a 1903 Springfield bolt with a 2 piece firing pin....not at all desireable in a long range tactical rifle. I'd stay with a Parker Hale clip feed actions like the 1100, 1200C, M86 or M87. Ron

I have a McMillan C3A1 stock with spigot. At least that's what I think the designation is. It cam from reliable source .Would like to get going with semiclone, but will use M1913 rail and hopefully TedGaillard barrel, if Ican obtain contour specs.

The barrel is the standard 1200TX contour - didn't change at all with the rebuilds in the early 90's.

That being asside, you could approach Rob McLennan for one of the spare C3A1 barrels that he produced for the DND. We never used any as far as I know, so they are probably still sitting in stores. If accuracy had ever been that bad, we just had the Mat Tech's turn back the primary torque shoulder and then we recut the chamber until it would headspace properly.

DND did explore putting a 1913 rail on the C3A1, as a way to add some flexibility to mounting optics. It never really went anywhere, because the call for the MRSWS had begun, making any work on the C3A1 redundent.

Seemed like a shame, because I was always telling people that we could have gone to a higher cartridge with what we had. The receiver's could have handled a larger cartridge for sure. The M87 was way over-engineered for strength - it was actually a very nice rifle - shame PH couldn't get it out there to the masses.

Could anyone tell me what the PH (Unertl) scope mount (the real one off the C3A1 sniper rifle) would be worth? I know of one which may be for sale, but I'm unsure of the asking price. Thank you for any help.
