Exciting new SKS Picatinny Scope rail

Ordered one last week, will keep you guys updated how it works out.

I have a Monarch 4-16x42 to test it. Will also try a Bushnell TRS25. (I know blasphemy)
My Sks also got a trigger job by Kivaari (Sksboard) done and is bedded.

the site is amazing it lines up perfectly with the original iron site. The front pin removal is a son of a B*tch. normally you would press down the front of the rear iron site and pull with a pair of pliers. mine was not as easy. took some playing around with and some ingenuity to get out. the rear pin is the most simple. Unfortunately removing the rear pin will ruin it, if you want to restore your original you will need a new lock pin for the rear. A dremel works quite well with very minor amount of sparks to cut off that rear pin or since knowing it was replaceable I used a small pair of bolt cutters to cut it out. Coming to installation a small expansion pin for the front site couple taps with a hammer and then your ready to put the sleeve in the rear. Once the sleeve is in there is 2 alan screws that hold the sleeve into position. Tighten up, put your new red dot, scope or laser on and happy shooting!

To the people stating that it would be hard to load- Have you ever used (or heard of) blind magazines? You can have a scope on them....

Being in Canada, I rarely use strippers anyway as loose rounds pile up on top of the mag, negating any "speed of loading"

Rail looks way better than those cheezy nc star ones I've seen.

Cut your strippers in half, pinch closed the cut end, make sure to load the clips and mark the spot to cut first. You'll have two 5-rounders for every clip you've got. Your problem is now solved. Except if you use this mount, then you'll have to thumb load one-by-one or switch to detachable magazines. Not that that's a bad thing, just something to keep in mind.

To the OP:
Any chance of a pic with the rail down and fully mounted, possibly with a scope on it? I would like to get an idea of the whole overall look.

My mount was shipped today! But I still need a nice scope. anyone know of a scope I can buy in Canada made for the 7.62x39 round???

if ya want Canadian tire has a pretty good red dot with tinted lens all adjustable and 3 different reticals for around 40 or 50 bucks. friend of mine just mounted one on a .357 mag and it is perfect and holds zero. might help if don't want to spend a fortune
